I've been a Sienkiewicz fan ever since that first Dracula issue of X-Men. Even more than Cockrum or Byrne, he drew Storm as very clearly a black woman, without descending into caricature. (Unfortunately, the plot was a typical Claremont "Noble villain wants Storm for his queen" story that we saw repeatedly in the 80s, but you can't have everything.)

Mind you, Claremont was sometimes repetitive, but he was one of the best in his time. Not an expert on writers/artists, but seemed to me Sienkiewicz learned from Neil Adam's mistakes and was avoiding collaboration with downright atrocious writers. I bought his and Miller's Daredevil - Love and War, in the early nineties, loved it. Pretty much automatically buying his books ever since. Here is a nice review of Love and War.

Ohhhh.... The Walking Dead. Right... and now there apparently is JWD as well. It was recommended by a friend, ordered it just yesterday - "I am a Hero": Could be interesting. They call it Japanese Walking Dead...
