Ha ha...I had that issue of FF as a young kid. I was given it in a box of other random Marvel, DC and Charlton comics by my Grandma (I think she picked them all up cheap from a jumble sale or something). I must be honest, I think that's a pretty terrible design, but I have a firm nostalgic attachment to The Eliminator, so I'm really pleased to see that someone has picked him as part of their list. Nice one, Icc.

9. White Rabbit White Rabbit was one of my "also ran" picks that didn't quite make it into my list, so I'm pleased to see her getting some love. You're right, she is a really fun character and I love how her costume is an obvious riff on the outfit worn by the White Rabbit in Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland. Of course, it also brings to mind Playboy bunnys (or maybe that's just me), but whatever, it's a fun and sexy costume.

We are 4 days in and I now realize that the villains have a much better look and design than the heroes.

I guess that explains why people turn to crime when they could make an honest living. (I'm looking at you, Petruski!)

Shine a light on me... Day Four - Doctor Light by Mike Sekowsky and Gardner Fox As others have pointed out, the plain black and white color scheme is uncommon, but works well in this case.

Coming in at number 09 on our countdown, a menace to an entire valley and particularly to our three intrepid heroes who also have pretensions to culinary greatness.
Stupid Stupid Rat Creatures With Bartleby as the exception these rat creatures menace the Valley where the Bones find themselves. They have the perfect combination of menacing and funny looking to fit perfectly into the Bone Mythos. Stupid stupid rat creatures. I love me some Rat Creatures, they will definitely be seen again. -M

9. Crossbones - especially as used by Epting and Guice with Ed Brubaker I just love the character, simplicity of design, ski mask over combat fatigues, insane illogical love for the Red Skull and his daughter, can-do attitude, supreme confidence, ability to go with said confidence. A great foil for Cap, not over or underpowered so he offers an even fight, but is so psychotic you just cant take him for granted.

HelaThe only female on my list. She has been seen already on some others and for me, it is the green and also that wicked headgear. Obviously Kirby's design reigns supreme. I also like this later one by Buscema as it is essentially the same look. Some later looks remove the black and green squiggles from the body suit which to me, ruins it completely.

On this fourth day of Christmas I present the only woman on my list:
The lady you need a can opener to love: Iron Maiden!
Created in 1967 as part of the T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents series for Tower comics this maiden of steel (sorry Supergirl) puts the sexy in canned goods. She knows how to strut her iron better and manages to do so without a skirt as a certain Latverian monarch does. She is pure splendid malevolence in a can and one of the best flirtatious evil ladies created to tempt the good guys!

9. Tannarak Time for another sharp-dressed man to join Mr. Gallaher's Best-Dressed List! As a young reader, I was especially taken with the fashion sense on display in Jim Aparo's issues of DC's Phantom Stranger. I loved the look of the title character, but I was really struck by my first look at his nemesis Tannarak in issue 23, when he reappeared having changed from the black-suited look he sported under Neal Adams' artwork to this all-white tux and cape. We really are psychologically influenced by color, and in our Western traditions, white is just not for villains, so the look was a bit disorienting, but memorable, this devilish looking gentleman posing a perfect contrast to our midnight-cloaked protagonist. A simple design, but one that popped to mind almost as soon as I heard this year's topic.

9. Prince Gaynordesign by Barry Windsor-Smith. Maybe my favourite full-armour design, even better than Doctor Doom's. Of course, the character itself was created by Michael Moorcock in the Elric books, but BWS came up with the visual design seen in the images above and below.

Random thoughts on Day Four...because I'm tired of trial prep for a bit.
We're starting to get reruns...which is fine.
I don't hate power-armor Luthor.
Black Cougar. I'd totally forgotten about him. I'm a big Frazetta fan and I have read that story in The Greatest Golden Age Stories. The combo of the look and the Frazetta art gives it a Edgar Rice Burroughs historical novel feel to me. Nice call.
The Sentinels are scary.
Monsieur Mallah shall return.
Pretty sure I've never seen Volcana. Seems a bit like Molten Man in drag.
Deathstroke. Not as bad as he could be considering Perez designed him. Perez was not a great character designer.
Captain Cold I considered. I'm actually really fond of a lot of Flash's rogues and feel bad none of them made the cut.
Solaris. He's got his eye out for you. Sauron did it better.
Two-Face was very close to making my list. I could have done one of just Bat villains.
Yeah...Joker too. Particularly as portrayed by Rogers, Aparo or Garcia-Lopez.
I love that The Eliminator made it. I bought that issue...which was odd because I was not an FF fan at the time.
All hail the Bi-Beast. One wonders if he argues with himself.
Silver Banshee screams for recognition.
Catwoman's green outfit may well be my least favorite. Well...maybe just a bit ahead of the furry type cat-mask.
Chemo almost made my list, though it would have been the earlier Chemo-classic.
White Rabbit is a demented furry. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
Dr. Light has a look I love to hate.
Crossbones...ummm...no.
Iron Maiden (insert obligatory Bill & Ted imitation). Really like that Wally Wood design.
Tannarak...I love that look. Probably didn't make my list because the Gentleman Ghost filled that niche.
I missed Prince Gaynor. He looks like Stallior with a human body.

Finally getting to participate, and doing so without looking at anyone else's list (so I'm sure I'm gonna forget some, and then slap my head and think, "HOW COULD I FORGET THAT COSTUME???"). my #9 pick? ChemoI'm a HUGE Metal Men fan, likely the biggest one on these boards (and have the tattoos on my body to prove it , and also a fan of Kaiju films. . .so the moment they created a villain (a gigantic, Kaiju sized villain), made out of chemicals that could kill the Metal Men (tho anything could every issue, LOL), or kill people? I was sold. again, a fairly simple design -- I think I sense a theme with me -- but one that works OH SO WELL. when they tweaked him a bit in the 2000's to give him metal "eyes", I think it made the character look even better.
