And as noted above, I'm probably the site's worst, or close to it, about never getting around to reading what I buy. It's not intentional by any means, but simply a consequence of too many comics (& lots of other things ... I don't think I'm nearly at the hoarder level, but I freely admit to being an accumulator; probably there's a fairly fine line there) & too little time, not to mention interest in the field that irritatingly & inconveniently has been known to come & (as been the case for the last year-plus at the very least) go for extended periods. I think I fall into this category too. Everything I buy is with a view to reading it - eventually. And I can see myself discarding a lot of things after I read them once. But I'm not doing a very good job of keeping up with the reading, I have to admit. In my case I think part of my loss of interest is due to the fact that my book-reading has been largely concentrated on the pre-modern era the last few years, though I've been making an effort to dip into some more contemporary - or at least 20th century - stuff the last several months. Once my general reading moves into the modern era I think my interest in comics will return.

I'm not really interested in accumulating things just for the sake of having more. Usually if I buy something, its for a specific purpose (either to keep, read once, or donate to charity.)

Everything I buy is with a view to reading it - eventually. Same. The rate at which stuff I want to read comes out is too much for me, and that's only factoring in Fantagraphics hardcovers.

I generally buy to read too, but there are a few key issues and runs that I bought primarily to own and then decided after that I should probably read too. Batman #8-10 and (almost) #100-713, Green Lantern #1-20, World's Finest #2, More Fun Comics #60 -- all books I bought primarily to own and then later decided I should also read.
Oh, and I absolutely buy my House of Mystery and House of Secrets issues for the covers. I find most of the interior stories thoroughly lackluster.

I own three copies of Love And Rockets #1 I think.
The black and white cover one I opened once, likely won't open it again unless I decide to sell it.

Last night I went into a comic shop that's a little far from my home and picked up 15 books for 10 bucks. I have added them to my 74 books that I bought last Sunday. Is it like hoarding if you don't actually read the books that you buy? Not read books? These words don't compute...

I neither hoard nor collect. I keep to reread, just like I do with books. And yes, I read everything I've bought, usually more than once.

I neither collect nor hoard. I buy to read, or eventually get around to reading, and keep to reread. I have 150 long boxes worth of comics, but it's all just reading material.

As indicated earlier, I prefer to think of myself as accumulating rather than hoarding. Probably a distinction without a difference, but it makes me feel better about myself.
If I were Cei-U!, this is where I'd say, "I feel pretty!"
Thankfully, I am not Cei-U! Accordingly, I merely feel ruggedly handsome.

Whatever I bought I had intended to read. It just might not be right away. As I mentioned elsewhere,I've pulled out some boxes in the closet unopened for 25 years with paperbacks and underground comix, many unread, and now I'm enjoying them. Whatever you want to call that is fine with me. I hardly re-read material, maybe I would after a few decades, but with so much to absorb between comics, books, movies and music and relatively little time remaining, I tend to go for something new to me

If I were Cei-U!, this is where I'd say, "I feel pretty!" Well, I do. I *think* I'm thankful for that, too, but I'm still sorting it out. You just keep telling yourself that, Quasimodo. Cei-U! I summon the poor deluded bastard (meaning Dan, of course)!

Plastic bags and boards are wrappers to be thrown away!!! **flees**Nah. That one I agree with. I do occasionally keep lists on boards rather than discard them. They aren't as easy to mislay as regular ol' pieces of notebook paper.
