Is the entire Ultimate Fantastic Four series any good?
Or should I try the Ultimate X Men Series?

I actually really liked the setup of the UF4 - they restaged the origin into something that worked without being tied to a particular time period, and the first maybe 3 years of the title were pretty good, with top line talent* on the book. After than it went downhill, as did most of the Ultimate line as it got progressively downgraded in favour of the 616 universe, with secondary or newer creators on the Ultimate line. The second volume, Ultimate FF is dreadful - the art by Andre Araujo looks like it was drawn by a child, and not in a good way - he later turned up on Avengers AI with a similar but much more developed style - UFF was very much him developing his talent and making his mistakes in public.
(* or as top line as Marvel could throw at it - so Bendis, Millar and some good artists, plus Greg Land)

The origin issues are great, and it's really good for a long part of the run. But there's a drastic change around Ultimatum and you might not like it so much after that if you're really attached to the traditional FF dynamic. Lots of squandered opportunities that seem to have been the result of editorial fiats, like getting rid of its more unique Doctor Doom for a 616 carbon copy.
You should also try Ultimate X-Men, just be aware it is all over the place in terms of quality past a certain point. Just read it for as long as you can tolerate it, I guess.

Thanks. I don't hear much about Ultimate Fantastic Four these days but I keep hearing about how goof Ultimate X Men was the half of it or whatever

I quite like the Mike Carey TPB God War (which basically is FF meets Fourth World).
