I hear Batman and Squirrel Woman have a thing going. They're keeping it quiet because you're not supposed to date outside the company's home universe.
Oh, that's not what you meant. Right. Forget I said that.

DC Comics - In my area in speaking of the three LCS that I visited and I've asked nicely what are the top three books for DC Comics right now are ... Aquaman, Superman, and the Titans too. Marvel Comics - They are as follows: The top 3 are ... Doctor Strange, Mighty Thor, and Daredevil ... coming on strong the X-Men is closing the gap. I'm referring to the sales receipts of the three stores that I go to. For myself ... I occasionally read Aquaman, Titans, and Doctor Strange. The X-line has gotten remarkably better after their relaunch. Having overcome the decade-long dread of possible extinction, they've injected more familiar tones like family, school, and soap opera dynamics. It almost feels like old times again. Also, apparently anything Al Ewing writes for Marvel as well. Uncanny Avengers is as trippy as ever and Ewing is re-establishing what looks like a mostly new cosmology for Marvel in the Ultimates title.

String ... I just saw the X-Men titles that you are referring to and I heard that it's back to it's "roots" meaning family, individual problems, and so forth and I was treated like the good ole days. I'm going back to my LCS on Monday to familiar with it and probably start reading X-line again. Very encouraging to an old X-Men fan like myself.

DC: Haven't produced anything that appeals to me for years
Marvel: Mighty Thor and Old Man Logan - that's about it; the main Avengers book has its moments. I'm many months behind on Daredevil and wasn't that thrilled with it since Waid left; Ultimates was the best thing that Marvel was publishing, but has just finished, Aaron's Dr Strange was pretty good but has finished and I'm not really feeling the new writer. Everything else has fallen off a cliff in terms of quality over the last couple of years - I've dumped all of the X-Men books, Spider-Man, most of the Avengers books (and the other one is hanging by a thread), all the Guardians books and pretty much everything else. I'm reading Invincible and Infamous Iron Man, but both more from habit than anything else - neither of them are remotely good. The She-Hulk Hulk book has been readable, but not much more. Spider-Woman was good, but has finished
EDIT: Add Dr Strange and the Sorcerers Supreme to the decent pile... but there's only 1 issue (I think) left of that series

DC's Hanna-Barbera books have been at least interesting and some (Flintstones) have been excellent. I look forward to the second wave.
I've heard enough good stuff about the DC/Looney Toons mash-ups that I'll probably grab the trade when it comes out.

I might read the new Bullseye series now that it's out in collected form. I like the character when it's written well (e.g. Frank Miller in DD#181) and I thought the artwork looked good when I looked at it in the LCS a few issues back.
And I might try the 2nd trade collection of the Lemire/Smallwood Moon Knight, though I wasn't overly impressed by the first one - nice artwork, but Lemire's premise (MK out of his mind - again) didn't really grab me, so far. I was waiting to see if this was just an opening scenario that he was going to build on and eventually take somewhere more interesting but I have a feeling that what we got in the first 6 issues was it and that this new collection will just be more of the same.

Dastardly & Muttley written by Garth Ennis drops later this month.
And Chaykin's Ruff & Reddy is coming in October, I believe.
Very much looking forward to both. Though I REALLY want Marc Russell's Snagglepuss.

Tom King's Mr. Miracle #1 has pretty much sold out everywhere and a second printing in on the way. A lot of retailers under-ordered because they didn't foresee the demand for this book. I don't know how good it is, I haven't read it, but in terms of being hot and in demand right now, it is one of the hotter books to come out recently.

Waiting with bated breath for Ennis' Platoon series detailing Frank Castle's first tour in Vietnam.
First issue is in October
Anything Punisher/warfare related by Ennis is pure gold.

I've even subscribed to it on Comixology, because I don't buy singles and I don't want to wait for the tpb to come out.

King's premise (as it appears) seems wholly original to a character such as Scott Free and Gerads' art was incredible. I would imagine that King has more twists upcoming so if the rest of this series matches the tone and feel of this first issue, this is going to be huge.

They seem to have killed all the good titles recently. Im in the process of deciding what to get when I drop Star Wars(way overdue now), but theres not a lot demanding I pay the premium for getting paper versions (roughly double what digitalcost me). There are a few DCbooks I follow but for the most part they leave me cold. Putting money into digital collections of Elfquest and the likes of Grendel seems to be a better bet for me lately.

But... one mans trash...right?
