Looking at your top 10 comic sagas -- your absolute favorites of all time -- how many of the authors of those sagas have you actually met?
(and yes, I'm aware this may lead to spoilers for Day 9 and Day 10 picks...)
I've met George Perez, Chris Claremont, Don Rosa, and Stan Sakai thus far. Each encounter is firmly etched upon my brain for all time to come.
Jack Kirby, Hugo Pratt, and Will Eisner died before I first encountered their works on my list, Stan Lee charged too much money and didn't seem like someone who really wanted a deep conversation, I don't think I'd have anything to say to Neil Gaiman that he hadn't already heard before, and I don't want to meet Dave Sim, as I respect the work but not the man.
I still hope to meet Roy Thomas, P. Craig Russell, and Marv Wolfman someday soon.

I've not met any yet, but I hope to meet the creator of my #1 if I can get to Cartoon Crossroads Columbus this year. I have met a handful of the creators from some of my honorable mentions though.

Define "met". Say I was in a room and they were at the front of the room talking to the crowd.

Define "met". Say I was in a room and they were at the front of the room talking to the crowd. If you think that counts, that counts. By my own criteria, if I asked a question and they responded, that would count. Had a great conversation with Gerry Conway that way.

Have not met Moore, Gaiman or Claremont.
Have seen *Day 1 spoiler* at several conventions and once had VIP tickets for an invent that included a meet-and-greet beforehand. Have met *day 2 spoiler* at many conventions and comic store signings, gotten a couple pieces commissioned, plus have had several online interactions. Have seen Kurt Busiek at many conventions and once shook his hand, plus have had several online interactions. Met Jim Starlin at his booth at a convention once. Scott McCloud I've seen talk in a small room; not sure I'd say we actually met.
So that's 4-5 met out of 8.

Of my top ten I've had the pleasure of meeting Mike Mignola, Len Wein and Stan Sakai...and by far my best experiences have been with Stan; he's just a really humble guy who truly seems to love interacting with his fans.
There's one more but I won't reveal it as it would spoil tomorrow's choice.

Jones, Jason Aaron, Colleen Doran and more I can't think of but it's totally tripping meeting these people

I've been lucky enough to have worked with or interviewed many of my heroes in the British comics industry over the years, and met several others through them or through the various magazines and sites I've worked for. That number includes Alan Moore, Pat Mills, Bryan Talbot, Garry Leach, Kevin O'Neill, Dez Skinn, James Robinson and Paul Cornell, and the late Brett Ewins.

My friend Jeff and I met Mike Sekowsky at a speaking convention and I briefly talked to him a few minutes before moving on meeting our friends later at a restaurant. The year that I met him was 1979 and I just can't remember where. I'm going to ask Jeff if he remembers it. Just One and I just voted.

My definition of " met" is that I exchanged words with them either at a con or a store signing. I met- Roy Thomas and Neal Adams ( Kree /Skrull War), Denny O'neil ( GL/GA), Jim Starlin ( Magus Saga), Jim Shooter ( Hank Pym Story), John Byrne ( FF), Marv Wolfman ( Judas Contract) and Curt Swan ( WEHTTMOS).
I actually delivered mail to Chris Claremont's house when I worked in Brooklyn and I used to be the regular MM for Dwayne Mcduffie and we actually stood and talked on a street corner one time about comics for about 10 minutes.
