So always looking for comics beyond what the gatekeepers at Diamond are willing to carry, I always keep an eye out for places to try new stuff. Cons and shows are the best palce to find smaller publishers and self-publishing creators, but I occasionally get sites recommended that are essentially marketplaces for small press stuff. Someone sent me links to these today and I thought I would share for folks maybe loking to broaden their comics' horizons or show some love to small press creators... These are essentially like etsy for comics creators (but etsy has a small press section too). The first is Comichaus which looks to have a pretty broad selection but also seems to allow for the sale/purchase of back issue comics form all publishers mainstream or indy. The second is Comixcentral which is focused on creator published stuff and looks like 90% of the purchase price goes to the creator not the site. The third is comicsy the most direct parallel to etsy, and looks to be based out of the UK as all the prices are in pounds. I haven't yet bought or sold anything through any of these, though they came recommended to me by folks in one of the small press communities my wife and I joined via facebook back when I was doing some editing for a local studio. If anyone knows of other places to go for similar stuff, feel free to share. I know Comixology has a section for small press indy creators, and DriveThru RPG/comics sold PDF of indy books a few years back (haven't checked recently to see if they are still going). But I am always open to more sites if people know of them, or feedback on any of the listed sites if you have used them. -M

I've used Comichaus a few times and been pretty satisfied with the service so far.
