I hope it's okay for me to post this. If not, please take it down or move it, moderator. Here's a link to the first comic published by my company Golden Era Comics. Stories in this title are set in the Golden Age of comics. I'll soon be launching Surprising Universe, which is a superhero universe set in the modern age. Fellow board member Coink Adink did the cover for the first issue of that title. Thanks very much for any interest. www.indyplanet.us/product/143477/

Though I can't imagine you want to ruin too many surprises with this title, may I ask if The Golden Era will also attempt to recreate the style of the Golden Age as well? If the cover is any indication it looks as though artwise you're shooting for something of a blend, but will the stories themselves try to emulate the feel of the 30's/40's?
Regardless of the answer, this looks really interesting - I hope you get a lot of exposure and success.

Regardless of the answer, this looks really interesting - I hope you get a lot of exposure and success. Hey Chad! We do attempt to imitate the Golden Age style in our title Golden Era. We've got three different writers and three different artists presenting the same number of stories in our first issue. I think a blend of the Golden Age style and maybe some Silver Age sensibilities mixed in might be how I'd describe what we achieve. Issue 2 of Golden Era will reprint the first comic appearance of Hugh Hazzard and His Iron Man, along with what I think is a really good story an old writer friend of mine scripted with one of his characters set in the late 1930s. Thanks for your question.

Here's the cover to Surprising Universe #1, which was drawn and colored by award winning fellow board member Coink Adink. This cover features Golden Era characters that I co-created UNBEATABLE BRICK and SENSATIONAL SKYSCRAPER.

@mfd1 & coinkadink ... Very nice cover and I find it to be very dramatic and retro look for a Golden Age twist. Loved it very much!

@mfd1 & coinkadink ... Very nice cover and I find it to be very dramatic and retro look for a Golden Age twist. Loved it very much! Thanks Caped Crusader! I discovered Coink (aka Chris Jones) on Facebook and identified him as my top choice for cover artist on issue 1. He colors his own stuff too in retro style, which is the feel I'm looking for! To say nothing of his tremendous art, of course!
