Josie and Pussycats #7: This might be classified as a "filler" issue, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. The girls have now hit the big time and are attending a red carpet before an awards show. Valerie learns of a benefit concert going on at the same time and says she'd rather be there helping people out. Josie at first ignores the benefit, but eventually comes around and the girls leave the show to attend the benefit--leaving Alan to accept an award the band wins. What struck me about this story is that despite the girls new found fame and brief rock star attitude displayed by Josie, the girls do what is in their hearts and go to the smaller benefit with lesser known musical acts. The emphasis is on the girls, their friendship and how each pussycat adds to the group dynamic. Audrey Mok hits the artwork out of the park. While some artists would have skimped on the red carpet scenes, Audrey has background characters in individual and detailed evening gowns and hairstyles. The outfits she has the Pussycats in during the awards show are well drawn and very tailored looking. There is a quick scene with the Pussycats saving the day (a rival band is caught stuffing a ballot box), but this is a nice story showing us the hearts, camaraderie, and friendships of the girls. 8/10

Written by Joshua Williamson. Art and Cover by Carmine Di Giandomenico. At his birthday party Barry is really distracted...lost in his thoughts about the events that happened in the Button crossover. Hal Jordan is there as a guest when Multiplex attacks. Barry & Hal leap into action as Flash & GL in a beautiful 2 page splash page by Carmine. Wally races Iris home to keep her safe...and find an ALIVE Reverse-Flash sitting on her sofa?? Great start to the next Reverse-Flash saga. Williamson does a great job showing Barry's thoughts & emotional turmoil over what happened the last few issues. Carmine's art keeps getting better. Beautiful job this issue. I can't wait for the rest of the story. 8/10.

Wonder Woman Annual #1Three separate stories, and I liked all of them! I don't think I've enjoyed Wonder Woman this much since Rebirth started!

Wonder Woman Annual #1Three separate stories, and I liked all of them! I don't think I've enjoyed Wonder Woman this much since Rebirth started! I liked the ones by Greg Rucka & Nicola Scott (with Superman & Batman. Although some of their dialogue was off). 8/10.
And Michael Moreci & Stephanie Hans (with the Japanese warrior & his village). 7/10.
The King Shark story was OK. 5/10.
I didn't like the Japanese monster story. 3/10.

Wonder Woman Annual #1: I agree with the previous posts and enjoyed the annual. My favorite story was the first meeting between Wonder Woman, Superman, and Batman. Nicola Scott's art is beautiful. Her Lois Lane was very Margot Kidderesque and I would love to see Scott on a Superman title. Now, I haven't read a Batman title in many years, but is he typically depicted as a jerk? Perhaps this characterization is a contrast to Superman and Wonder Woman? 8/10 I didn't care for the art on the 2nd story, but enjoyed it. Wonder Woman saves King Shark and shows him compassion--that I believe he actually appreciated. 7/10 The Japanese Warrior and the village story--beautifully rendered and it showcased Wonder Woman's warrior tempered with compassion side. 8/10 The final story about the monster: didn't care for it or the art. The art looked more like scribbles in a high schooler's notebook and the story was silly--perhaps it was a homage to some of the light fare of the silver age? 2/10 Overall the annual is worth a look. It showcases many facets of Wonder Woman's personality--it seems DC may have finally settled on just who Wonder Woman is: a kind, compassionate hero who will punch the daylights out of you if left no other choice.

Wonder Woman Annual #1: I agree with the previous posts and enjoyed the annual. My favorite story was the first meeting between Wonder Woman, Superman, and Batman. Nicola Scott's art is beautiful. Perhaps this characterization is a contrast to Superman and Wonder Woman? 8/10 Yes & no. Most modern writers write Batman as supremely confident to the point of arrogance. But some write this so heavy handed that he comes off as a jerk. Rucka is one of those writers that write Batman as a jerk. I think he does it for the reasons you mentioned above. Look at his Superman "she's pretty" line. He wrote Clark so over the top innocent to contrast him with Batman. However he only had 10 pages to show why Clark & Bruce would trust Diana so quickly.
And Scott did draw #3,5,6 of Perez' New 52 Superman. To be honest I would love to see Scott draw any title. She's really good.

Doctor Aphra #7 Written by Kieron Gillen Art by Kev Walker Summary: Leia, Han and the gang's attempted rescue of Luke goes about as well their rescue missions usually go as the Queen hypnotizes Han and Luke. Plot: The initial mood of mystery and horror that originally made the series feel exciting and new continues to be thrown to the wayside in this third part in favor of mindless action. I still want to see what the supposed jedi crystal reveals but it's going to be difficult to keep going if it continues as it has in the last two issues. Art: Walker's art is certainly serviceable but there's little other than explosions and running to keep your eyes engaged. Grade:5/10

Lobster Johnson: The Pirates Ghost #3Written by John Arcudi and Mike Mignola Art by Tonci Zonjic Summary: With the time bomb quickly ticking down the Lobster comes to the rescue aboard a pirate ship. Plot: This is one of those stories where you almost feel like you've missed an issue; while the introduction of the supposed pirate's hand as a talisman to awake the mob leader's flagging moral was introduced it was never fully explored until the conclusion in this issue. This abrupt reveal of not only it's "power" but also its origin as a fake made the pacing feel off and the death of Isog feel too rushed and unearned. That said, Walt's death at the hands of the Lobster was fantastic and the rift it caused between Cindy and Henry was perfect. Art: Zonjic's art was as perfect as always, I loved the look on Cindy's face as she looked up to see the Lobster kill Walt just after she had convinced Henry not to kill him. Grade:7/10

Teen Titans Annual #1 (Lazarus Contract finale)
This ending involves quite a bit of time-traveling. In an effort to spare you all a headache, I'll just say that it does take the combined efforts of both teams to 'save' the day. But not without consequences. Slade is (apparently) a changed man, having sworn off fighting. NuWally has been kicked off the Teen Titans for his decision to help Slade. And Wally...well, Wally now has a pacemaker which limits his ability to use his speed (A result of a timeline change initiated by the impulsive action of Damian)
I'm not sure how to feel about these changes, especially to Wally. Just have to wait and see how this plays out in their individual titles. But the characterizations and interactions here, as in the rest of this arc, were very good. The tension and friction between certain members, the at-odds attitudes over what to do (or whom to call), the underlying emotions and drama of unresolved father/son dynamics at play here (from both sides), it all made for some fine dramatic events and actions. There was no problems on the art front, solid depictions with the individual artists of all 3 titles handling the small epilogue vignettes that followed.
This issue: 7/10
Overall arc/event: 8/10
