Unless, I'm doing something bizarrely wrong, there seems to be a bug with the forum. I don't get it consistently, but it is not the first time. Check my latest post in the Usagi Yojimbo thread. The formatting should all be in BB code. classiccomics.boards.net/post/25612/threadHowever, when I try to insert an image using the image inserting button, it will change all that BB code to html code, and then not display properly. |

My best guess is that the buttons break if you have any manually typed BB code formatting.

I recall this happening to you before as well. Could be a bug specifically triggered by something you do when posting that most other users don't. Hmmmm. I could report it to proboards support, but it's probably better if it comes from you since you can answer specifics about what occurred and what exactly you'd done prior to it occurring. I've come to realize only recently that every poster has their own peculiar methods for posting more complex responses, especially when posting something using elaborate coding or quoting multiple sources. Chances are, what you're doing is totally correct, but your approach is unique enough that you're the first here to repeatedly stumble upon this glitch. |

It happened to me too just the other day, I kept using the insert picture function but it didn't work until Shax fixed it. Maybe copying and pasting does something weird?

Of course once I go to complain about it, I can't reproduce it.
It's happened to me more than once, but now everything is working fine.

We didn't have any plug-ins installed when you first experienced the problem. In the past week, I've added one. So I doubt that's it.
I'll look into the global header suggestion and see what I can do there.

Okay, I went through the global header section and changed things around so that there should be no possibility of anything there affecting coding anywhere else on the page.
Let's hope that was the cause.

Just wondering if you've run into this problem again since September 3rd. It's my hope that the changes I made to the html in the global headers solved the problem.

I am still having problems. This latest was a bit different and broke what I had observed as previous patterns. I am having trouble diagnosing the precise problem.
I had guessed it may involve mixing manual BB formatting with using the GUI, but this time I intentionally just used the GUI.
I had guessed it may involve cutting and pasting my manual formatting from my notepad to the forum, so this time I just typed it in straight. (A mistake as it caused me to lose things I had written)
The only constant is using the "insert image" button, but there is clearly a little more to it than that.
This time the image came through fine, but all the other formatting turned into HTML and made a mess. My attempts to solve this on the main help board went nowhere because I failed to reproduce the error over there.

I wish I could help, but I've done everything the support board suggested, and I can't think of anything else that can be done on this end to help you. Have you considered using a different web browser? It's a long shot, but I don't know what else to tell you. |
