Convention season is rapidly approaching, but no one's posted here in a full month. Would you miss The Convention Scene section if it were gone?

At my age, I've no longer attend Conventions because they are incredibly noisy, hard to move around, and it's basically a younger generation thing because of the cosplay; and I just find them not my cup of tea. I feel that this section should be gone and people attending these functions - should be kept in a private manner and share in the Community Discussion when the right time to do it. That's all I have to say about this section.

As long as we can post convention-related announcements on the Community Discussion board, I'm fine with not having a separate, dedicated board.
Cei-U! Maybe we can sell it on LetGo!

Private is a bad word to begin with, maybe the right word should be Personal Experiences (as it meant to be shared with all of us here) ... I couldn't think of a right word until your post hit me. Sorry, that I mislead you ... I think that these experiences should be shared in the Community Discussion under the thread "Conventions" and go from there so that everyone here can share them there not at the board that you are trying to eliminate it. I was thinking about that a minute ago and you jarred my thinking. That's what I'm trying to say here.

I've posted here and I check in occasionally to see what other people are doing, but if it weren't here, I probably wouldn't lose any sleep over it. Maybe just a thread in the Community Discussion would suffice.

Maybe just a thread in the Community Discussion would suffice. This seems to be the consensus. Were more people participating in this section, and if more people lived close to one another, this section might have proven an utter necessity, but it's definitely wasting prime real estate right now. I'll give this thread another day, but, barring any strong objections, I'll collapse the section back into Community Discussion.

Looks like there are now two copies of the "Rules of the Road" post in the Community board.
And the 'Adding cons to the Convention Scene" sticky might benefit from rephrasing, if it's still needed at all.
