Prelim pencil page for Hellboy -Into the Silent Sea, coming out in April. The crew of a sailing ship whisper concerns about the strange figure they have chained to the mainmast.

I love Gianni's work and am looking forward to seeing this project.

It's amazing the level of detail in some of that, and it's only the prelim pencil page, so a first draft so to speak.

it does look fantastic in pencil, so much so that i really wish it had been printed that way:

I mean, it still looks fantastic colored but I've always been partial to Gianni's pencil work alone like the art in the Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.

I'll do that. There is a lot of Dark Horse stuff I need to get. I only have the first three Hellboy trades. I'll always love superheroes, but I think I'm officially at the point where I'm a bigger fan of classic pulp-style characters and stories.
