Published: June 24, 2009 Synopsis: "Once again wandering through the country, Usagi comes upon the aftermath of a bloody fight. The carnage has left only one survivor -- Hiroto, a bounty hunter on the trail of the local bandit leader. However, Usagi realizes -- too late -- that his partner is the bandit chief himself!" Notes:- Collected in Usagi Yojimbo Volume 26: Traitors of the Earth and The Usagi Yojimbo Saga Book 7

Near the end of this one, when Usagi says he left stacked rocks and broken branches as a trail for others to follow, I immediately flipped back to see if they were in-panel. Of course they were. That's clever on Usagi's part and on Stan's.
I also liked that the ramifications of Inazuma's death, and Usagi's part in denying anyone a bounty on it, are still felt so long (in real time, not story time) after it happened.

I loved that twist, I noticed him breaking the branch the first time through and thought it was weird and then at the end I loved that it was actually on page.
