... who knows an artist. Her FB message to me is self-explanatory. A friend has hundreds of drawings from years back. He has created an entire story for his characters. I am not an art critic but I think his work is very detailed even though the drawings have a quick-sketched feel. His character is very sexual. Not overly porn just mostly bare boobs. I think I've seen where people in Japan enjoy that type of work. Maybe even here. I don't know if there is a market. I don't have a feel for if it's any good. Just curious to see if he could be published. And how to start that process. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It's not a subject I'm in any way qualified to address, but I suspect that's not true of everyone here. Here's an example of his work (reminds me a lot of some of the '80s black & whites) --

The attention to detail is admirable but the positions of the figures also seem a bit stiff.
There's some potential here, but difficult to say much more than that. For one thing, it's obviously a quick sketch and as such would not stand on its own; for another, it's a single drawing and does not show skill (or lack thereof) in panel-to-panel continuity.

Dan, there are a couple of Facebook groups for small and indy creators and self-publishers that she can mine for info and inspiration. When we were part of the studio, my wife joined both of her facbook page. One is the Self-Publishing Association group page on FBthe other is the ICC Independent Creator Connection FB group pageshe should be able to find people with answers to all her self publishing questions for cartoon, comics or what have you. -M
