The toilet is an old coin money bank from the 90's, used to make sounds when you flushed the coins into the bank part. The cord is from this GAP beanie that also had built in headphones. Unfortunately was too large, so I very rarely wear it |

As I was on that side of town for a dentist appointment this morning. I made another Ollie's run today to see if they had anything new in among the DC buyout they advertised (and since we had gotten another coupon good for an additional 10% off our next purchase there if was worth checking out just in case). They had gotten in some new stuff and I picked up a few things I had passed on before but had considered. Some of it was more modern, some classic but I am just going to list it all here.
-Tales of the Green Lantern Corps Vol. 2 (collecting a bunch of the Tales of GL Corps back ups form the lives of Alam Moore and others that ran in the GL mag in the 80s and the first Tales of the GL Corps Annual.
-Justice League of America (new52) Vol. 2(written by Matt Kindt whose creator owned stuff I dig so giving it a shot for $3)
-Lucifer Vol. 6 (one of the new arrivals, I had picked up some other Lucifer volumes before)
-Batman No Man's Land Vol. 5
-Batman War Games Vol. 3
-Batman Second Chances (the Max Allan Collins run on Bats)
-Justice League United HC Vol. 1 and 2 (written by Lemire so giving it a shot, I actually read the zero issue when it came out and thought it wasn't bad but I was done with the new52 crossover gimmicks at that point)
-Justice League International Vol. 1 (Giffen/Dematteis era) another new arrival and I had picked up a different volume form that run on a previous trip)
-Batman/Superman/Wonder Woman Trinity by Matt Wagner (another new arrival)
-Manhunter Vol. 5 (the Andreyko Kate Spencer run, I picked up, read and really liked the first volume on a previous trip and also had Vol. 3 from a previous trip, this was new. I need to track down Vol. 2 and 3 now).
with coupon I got it all for under $35, not bad.
No new Showcases I didn't have (they had a few new ones like Atom but I already owned that one form a few years back) and no new omnibus. It looked more like they consolidated stock form other stores rather than got another new shipment in, as there weren't a lot of copies of the new stuff.

Picked up a couple of books by local creators today at the con... Rock of Pages #1 by Lee Xopher...  and Prowl #4 (reg version plus a commissioned sketch on the blank cover variant....  plus a few other things... the second volume of Stormfront from the Dresden Files adaptations  and a few other misc things. -M |

Heavy Metal #289 showed up in my mailbox today; it's a sci-fi special.
Also made a trip over to my LCS and picked up the following:
Black Panther Annual #1
Rise of the Black Panther #1
Doctor Strange Damnation #1
Future Quest Presents #7 (featuring Birdman)
Swamp Thing Winter Special #1
Half Past Danger 2 #5 (final issue)
Image + #6 (serializing the new Wytches story)
that's about a month worth of pulls plus a few random pick ups to try stuff out.

We had to place an Amazon order for some household stuff, some of which was add-on only, so I ordered Descender Vol. 5 by Jeff Lemire and Dustin Nguyen to round out the order, and it arrived today. This has been one of my favorite series over the lst couple of years, so I look forward to diving into this most recent volume.

I somehow missed Astro City #50 at the comic book store a few weeks ago so I just went and ordered it off ebay. Oh my. It's really good. It's a sequel to the Astro City # 1/2 from years ago.
I read it yesterday and put it away, but today I've been thinking I should take it out and put it in the mini-library on my nightstand along with #44.
