Fop Lodge 44 Dayton Police Department. 4275 Powell rd. Dayton Ohio, Huber Heights, Ohio 45424 Facebook event pagePete's one of the local shop owners here in my part of Ohio, omnipresent at every show I go to, great shop w/awesome custemer service, and this is his annual warehouse blowout to liquidate some of his overstock comics, toys, games, and such... here's the before pics of stuff he's getting ready for the event... over 200 longboxes with back issues starting at 3/$1 so lots of stuff to dig through. The plan right now is for me to go one of the 2 days, but if I make it Saturday there's a chance I go back on Sunday (done that before), the question is if I can make it out on the Saturday. -M

This weekend, of course, because that is just how things work out for me. Curse you for taunting me like this! I see that Strat-o-Matic Hockey game and it makes me think I should send my brother-in-law down to pick it up for me. My group of friends and I played that game for hours in the mid-80s, at times staying up all night because we lost track of the time. That's back when the game had the Whalers, Nordiques, North Stars, and Jets, and only 21 teams before the bloating of the league through endless expansion. My one friend had some older team sets including the Colorado Rockies and Cleveland Barons. Awesome memories.

Sorry you won't be in the area for it Cap. Next weekend seems to be the only weekend that isn't having some kind of comic related event this month. Last Sunday was one of the Jim & Dan shows, the first one at Wright State (I couldn't go because of a family X-Mas thing that day, but I had planned to go until I had the schedule conflict). There was another toy/comic show in Dayton last Saturday too. And Pete's warehouse thing is the weekend after like I posted. You may want to check out Bookery in Fairborn, they are doing Black Friday sales all month long... Bookery Fantasy-M

I wish the stores around here did somethin' like that... there are plenty in the area, they just don't really do sales ever.

The people of Dayton OH are lucky this weekend, we get nothing like that over here.

Unfortunately I didn't make it. I had to work yesterday and the roads were nasty this morning as temps dropped overnight and everything that melted yesterday refroze overnight. My wife did some grocery shopping early and had no desire to make the drive over to the sale with the road conditions being what they were. We were planning of making a day of it, hitting the sale in the morning, hitting a Dayton area favorite restaurant for lunch and then seeing Rogue One, but we just went out for brunch and to see Rogue one here in town instead. A bummer to be sure, but end of year budget was kind of tight, so I'll probably just put the money I had left in the war chest towards one of the several spring shows I am planning on going to.
