I'm so sorry for the loss of your beloved dog. I like some dogs more than most people.

Mister Spaceman, I'm so sorry. I don't have the words, but I knw how you feel, believe me. I've been there three times, and it's never easy. We know we're going to outlive them; they don't, and that makes it even more poignant. Our Sam went in much the same way as Ollie. The suddenness is so difficult to accept. These wonderful creatures live in our hearts from the day we bring them home and remain there forever. Which will eventually prove a good thing, I promise, however sad these days are for you right now. I mourn Ollie with you.

My condolences, Mr. Spaceman. Our cats and dogs probably don't know all that they give us, bless their little hearts.

Deepest sympathies @mister Spaceman. Pets are truly family and best friends and as a friend of mine says, he has more friends in his pets (2 cats and 2 dogs) than he has in human.

no spoilers at all. . but wow. . the new "DUNE" movie is fantastic.
reminds me very much of the worldbuilding done in the original "Star Wars"
Highly recommended, and I'm absolutely in for Part II

no spoilers at all. . but wow. . the new " DUNE" movie is fantastic. reminds me very much of the worldbuilding done in the original "Star Wars" Highly recommended, and I'm absolutely in for Part II I remember Denis Villeneuve as a young lad who took part in a Radio-Canada TV show titled "La route Europe-Asie" (the road from Europe to Asia). The concept was that half a dozen young cinematographers were sent to exotic places each week, and had to come up with a short film (written, shot, scored and edited) that was then judged by a panel of guests. That Villeneuve fellow quickly became my favourite of 5he many contestants, and when he won the grand prize at the end of the season I cheered and waited for his first professional film. I thought he was a young genius. I didn't see Un 32 Août sur la Terre, finally; I was out of the country. Ditto for Maelstrom, which I saw years after its release. I still haven't seen Polytechnique, because the subject is too emotional for most Quebecers. But when I saw Incendies, I cried. Same for Arrival. I admit I didn't understand Enemy, but it was clearly because I wasn't smart enough, and when it was explained to me, I was floored. Sicario also impressed me deeply. I cried again with Blade Runner 2049. So when it was announced that the guy who had become my favourite director was a fan of my favourite novel and was going to adapt it, I was both overjoyed and scared to death. What if he couldn't pull it off? I shouldn't have worried. As you say, the film is fantastic. It is Herbert, and it's Villeneuve, and if it wasn't that my wife wants to see it in Imax, I'd have watched it again already. As it is, I may convince my sons to see it with me next weekend!

I'm still waiting on some trust fund baby to bring Jodorowsky's Dune to the big screen or at least a live-action adaption of the Meta-Barons I just want the binder that has all the Moebius and Geiger storyboards and character and production designs. -M Or the friggin' coffee table book that they show several dozen times in Jodorowsky's Dune. They could probably make a small fortune selling copies of it but according to reddit, it solid semi-recently on Heritage Auctions for a cool 42k

Apparently purple pants are much harder to find in our reality than they are in the Marvel Universe. This, according to my youngest son who was going to dress as Dr. Curtis Connors for Halloween.
