Jesse, who runs Gem City, recently took over Champion City, which I attended this past weekend. He had the bookmarks promoting the show with the first round of guests listed... Barry Kitson, Billy Tucci and Howard Mackie seem to be the headliners so far, but he is always adding more guests, and just today announced the Kenzer and Company crew who produce Knights of the Dinner Table were just added as guests. More will follow as he finalizes contracts and such. It's a 2 day show, Sat April 1 and Sunday April 2 this coming year, it's second year at the downtown Dayton Convention Center (it outgrew the Nutter Center arena on the campus of Wright State University, it's previous home. I plan on going at least on Sunday this year, depending on how things work out I could go both days, but I doubt it. -M

They just added David Anthony Kraft to the guest list. I'd love to talk to him about Comics Interview and some of his Defenders stuff, so excited to see that.

It's a comics only show. Last time I went there were a great set of dealers and there is always a waiting list for dealers to get tables because so many want to do the show and it keeps moving to bigger venues with more space for dealers and the waiting list keeps getting bigger even as more dealers are added. Many have $1 boxes, some have things like $5 Silver Age boxes, etc. Dealers vary their stock at the show from year to year, but you can always find some kind of good deal.

I'm looking to take an away game comic hunt. But it might be too much of a trip without actually having the week off. I drove to Chicago many years ago and it took 13 hours from NY.

I'm about 90% certain I am going to make the trip for this one and will be attending on Sunday.
I'll use Saturday to meander across Ohio and hit some shops between Pittsburgh and my brother-in-law's place, crash with him Saturday night, and then do the show on Sunday before either going back to his place or coming home, depending on how the day goes.
