I was given an opportunity to get all the current Marvel Now! Ghost Rider issues for free and I'd rather have a wisdom tooth extracted without local anaesthetic. Gone is the well-defined human skull. I 'm not a fan of manga influence in western comics and wish this aberration would just end. I just can't believe one of my favourite bronze-age Marvel characters has evolved into this. Of course, the book still sells with some of our customers who fancy it...

I've never read any Ghost Rider, becuase the few times I'd find an Essentials it'd be in terrible condition (severe water damage/coffee stains/missing pages) and still like $10 used. I've always thought he was one of the coolest looking designs, though. It's nice to see they abandoned literally everything but the flames. Yeesh.
Is that a flame shooting out of a hole in his forehead?
edit: Wait, it looks like the forehead flame is the only flame that's actually a part of his design. Is he some demon/unicorn hybrid?

I think the Tradd Moore artwork in All-New Ghost Rider is kinetic and fun. Val Staples colors are some of the best in the business.

Where do I even begin with this thread?

People like what they like, of course, but yeah ... the art above strikes me as borderline hideous. Of course, once upon a time "bad" meant "good" (& for all I know still does), so maybe "kinetic & fun" is what kids these days say when they mean "really ghastly."

It's just a shame the new Ghost Rider look is awful on a design level.

I wouldn't call that art bad... it's not the style I like, but I wouldn't call it bad. I'd like to think I can see the difference between a good artist whose style I don't enjoy and a bad artist.
On the topic at hand... I'm REALLY annoyed at the upcoming 'Superior Iron Man' book. I'm not usually one to get upset about something before it comes out, but haven't we had enough of evil Tony? I mean, they make literally a billion dollars on movies with a heroic Iron Man, and we can't have him in a comic? Really?

Life's too short to get upset about funny books. funny books iz serious bizness! People like what they like, of course, but yeah ... the art above strikes me as borderline hideous. Of course, once upon a time "bad" meant "good" (& for all I know still does), so maybe "kinetic & fun" is what kids these days say when they mean "really ghastly." In fairness I was referring to the interior artwork and not that cover. Pages like this. The art is really well done. It's just a shame the new Ghost Rider look is awful on a design level. yeah I'm not feeling the face design but I think the car is an interesting update and I'm really liking the character.

Life's too short to get upset about funny books. It is indeed. Of course, it's also too short to type up posts about funny books, & yet here we are.

In fairness I was referring to the interior artwork and not that cover. Pages like this. Pretty cool. Perhaps the artist needs to be kept away from representations of the human figure?

I get upset when they don't run all their creative decisions by me first for my approval, and when they don't tailor every book to my personal tastes and screw everyone else who might want to read something different or have different tastes. I get upset when they don't let me pick the creative teams for every book and when they give work to creators I don't like. I get upset that they don't give me comp copies of everything they publish, and then arrange for them all to go wild in the speculator market so I can sell them all for a big profit. It's all very rude of them.... -M I'm sorry to hear that, but it's probably because they're doing all of those things for me

In fairness I was referring to the interior artwork and not that cover. Pages like this. That interior artwork is kinda nice and I *might* have been sold on it but I could have done without the rework on the main character himself...it is too distracting from the iconic Blaze/Ketch look. In fact, it would be nice if Blaze came back.
