I am working on setting up a commission piece (Thundarr) from the artist I had do Ming and Space Ghost to be picked up at this show. Less than a month away now, have to start making my convention hunting list and set my budget after I account for the commission.

Just got back from C4. Picked up my Thundarr commission and also commisionned Dave Aikens to do a Biotron cover for my IDW Micronauts #1 blank cover. Piked up a couple of action figures, a Funko Pop, a handful of trades and a whole bunch of $!-$3 comics. I am headed to work in a it, but I'll do a haul list after work or tomorrow.

One of the dealers had a book I had never seen before. It was a 1936 issue of Flash Gordon Strange Adventures-a book so rare that Overstreet lists it but doesn't give a price because there had only been 1 documented sale of it in the last decade or so. I did see a really beat up copy recently sold on a Heritage auction when I did a little digging when I got home(but do not have an account to see for how much), and I stole their picture to display here...  The copy I looked at today was a very crisp clean mid-to-high grade copy and was priced at an even $1000, a little too rich for my blood (ok a lot too rich for my blood), but it was cool to discover a comic/pulp I had not known about before. -M |
