It's kind of telling that the "RIP Dick Ayers" thread on the CBR Classics & Collected board did not get a single reply. The one dealing with Bill Mantlo's situation (here), has only one reply. Maybe I should've made the title of the thread, a little bit more sensationalist.

Maybe I should've made the title of the thread, a little bit more sensationalist. Yours is a rehash of an existing thread. Most of us had replied to the old version already, I'm sure. I am glad you re-posted it, but it's likely to be more of a "slow burn" than a thread about a veteran comic creator passing away.

"It's really simple. It's OK to discuss most any subject. Just be respectful. Don't get out of hand. Would you talk to your best friend this way? Would you say these things in your best friends house? Have a mature discussion and there's never a problem." -Jonah

I see some complaints made that since everyone re-registered,they're join dates are no earlier than April 2014. Except a bunch of mods who still show their original join date. Kind of a in-your-face move

Would you say these things in your best friends house? Have a mature discussion and there's never a problem." -Jonah What a dumb thing for him to say. When I am with my best friend my politeness and PC filters go off and I say anything I want, because I'm with a person I have known for 20 years and we have a mutual understanding about "the line" and what crosses it (with us there is no line). We can make cracks about each other's mothers and its no problem because we both know what a joke is (something people in general seem to be losing sight of). There is an absolute difference in how close friends communicate and how friends on a public forum communicate.

I wasn't thrilled with the new forum either, but I poked my head in a bit, but when I saw thwtguardian revive the classic comic book reading club and the first response was, why are you doing this, you should discuss comics you've read like a civilized person and not make random lists no one will read...I kind of knew it was not going to be a place for me. Thwtguardian's response was a whole lot more restrained than mine would have been, but that was pretty much the end of that thread and any inkling their might be hope for the classics and collected thread for me.

I mean, my best friend is the person I can say what I'm really thinking around.

Funny how they attempted to stop that kind of behavior and it's more prevalent now than ever before. There's one thread I'm really interested on there, the general trade and HC thread. Other than that I'm not terribly interested, and I'm fine lurking in the HC thread.

Yeah the only thread I am participating in there is the cover contest, even though I got jobbed out of my win when the old site was razed Have to see how long my interests holds to go there just for that. -M

Yeah, I'm checking out a few threads, mostly stuff not really covered here, but already nearly all of the threads I've participated in have slowed to a crawl. The topics seem far less diverse or interesting, and there seems to be far lass activity aside from people chattering about the latest issue of Uncanny Amazing Super X-Men and Friends Factor Force.

I'm tempted to (even if I don't recognize their nickname) whoever I see display some knowledgable postings on that board over to this side.A mind would be a terrible thing to waste in a barren wilderness

Deleted also were the ones were I pointed out the error in the new set-up that prevented all users from reading the terms of service before they agreed to them. Even though I pointed that out in a very constructive, non offensive way. Maybe I am just misremembering how badly the switchover was done from a technical point of view...
