I found it interesting that they dedicated seven out of ten "comics" forums to Marvel and DC, and one out of ten forums to all classics, all international comics, and all publishers outside of Marvel, DC, and Image. Heh, that reminds me of the old European comics thread (don't know if it was the Comm or Classics version of it), where somebody came in and asked us why we only focused on European comics in that thread instead of a wider scope. I had a real hard time not to respond "There is an entire forum dedicated to 1 guy dressed as a bat." I think it took 5 posts into the LGBTQ thread for somebody to complain that it wasn't inclusive because straight people were left out.

I'm gonna miss Pierrick and his convention sketches.

I took a gander at the C&C forum this morning. 42 people viewing the forum, but I recognize only two of them. Did a bunch of folks change their names and avatars? It feels like the Twilight Zone over there.

They also shut down the chat threads. I used to see this kind of behavior on the farm from chickens that were about to end up on the dinner table. The chickens shut down the chat threads? I am glad that there's a classics board back, though.

Someone started a new thread, and it was promptly deleted. That's incredibly disheartening. I'll be honest -- had they found a way to bring back the old threads, I would have seriously considered moving back, but a move like this just gives me the chills. For years, our community was just plain ignored. But I'm not willing to live under someone's thumb, reminded this is their board and not ours; subject to their whims. Same here. I never thought moderation was a problem on the boards I frequented during the last few years: Books, obviously, and the Classic Comics board. But the message boards are clearly just a tiny fraction of what CBR is today and not an important one either. No hard feelings, and CBR will always have a treasured place in my memory, but under these conditions and if years and years of hard work can be flushed down the drain at a moment's notice, I don't mind going somewhere else.

Wait, they dumped all the chat threads into there? The minority one, the LGBT one, the X-Men one? In their defense, I fully understand doing that. The Comm forum was 5 or 6 off-topic chat threads on the first page and with books, music, sport, manga and all the other forgotten forums now moved to the Comm-forum as well, merging those into one gives those threads a chance to be on the first page for a bit longer.

Of course, nobody forced Weiland to move half a dozen chat threads from the various sub-forums in the first place. He also claims there is no way to sticky the general chat thread on other boards. Is he actually unable to put a locked sticky on top of each board with a link to the chat thread on the comm board? After all those years of having forums?

That was me who posted in the Classics & Collected forum . I was asking if it was the new Classics forum because I had plans to come here and tell everyone.

@ superecwfan1:
And I tried to respond to your post. By the time I wrote my post and clicked "Save," yours was deleted, and I got a message saying there was no thread to post to. Took me a moment to understand what had happened.

That was me who posted in the Classics & Collected forum . I was asking if it was the new Classics forum because I had plans to come here and tell everyone. When I woke up this morning, I saw two things: 1) A message from you replying to my invitation to tell me the mods would work things out and you would love it if everybody came to CBR 2) That you had been banned at some point after sending that message. That observation pretty much finalized my decision that I was done, new classics board or no.

I can only say if you read a post I made before I left asking about the line and where do you cross it now , I jokingly suggested a Mod seemed to see my question about that being the Classics Board now and thought..."This has gotta be negative now." I jokingly asked if the Mod could sense that or something by asking a simple question. lol

Yeah lol.....I was told I was banned for creating a disturbance this morning when I woke up to check my PM's. It sorta drove it home they didn't want me there anymore so it made it simple. I don't blame anyone as I posted before on a thread I made Mod wise. I know why Cronin did it.

It feels like the Twilight Zone over there. They're all folks from the various hardcover threads. I think we're the one community to come out not only unscathed but actually better off because we never had an off-topic discussion thread and now we have an entire board to play in.

Here was the last thing I read from you being all positive and defending the mods and practically begging everybody to come back to the boards, trusting everything would be okay. Banned.
