Portland's probably the place to stay if you're into more urban settings, there are some fun little art museums, the public library holds interesting exhibits, the brewery tour is great, and there are awesome restaurants. Plus it's within traveling distance to places like old orchard beach if you like the ocean, and Bradbury Mountain if you like hiking.

Thanks guys. Right now my wife and I are in Augusta Maine. We plan to go to Acadia park Tomorow. And you know that I'm searching Yelp for the nearest comic stores.

It's rainy in Maine today so we decided to bum around Augusta and maybe have a bottle of wine later in our hotel room and do what adults do.

If you're there for foliage, you're in the middle of it in Augusta - just explore in any direction. If you like sandy beaches like the New Jersey shore, go south of Portland. North of Portland the shore is rocky instead of sandy, but the towns are classic Down East - Brunswick, Bath, Wiscasset, Boothbay Harbor, Damariscotta, Pemaquid Point, Rockland, Camden, Belfast, and on up to Mt. Desert Island and Bar Harbor. I spent a fair amount of time in that region a few decades ago.
Have a lobster roll and a bottle of Moxie!

Stopped on the side of the road in Bar Harbor and had a steamed Lobster. That's "lahb-stah." Say it right or they'll know you're from away.

I left Maine yesterday around 930 am and we took the local back road route 3 back down for the beginning of the trek back to nyc. It was a peaceful ride with several stops at roadside antique places. We also stopped to share a lobster roll before jumping on I-95 to journey to the big Apple. We ended up arriving at 11pm. Just one of the best vacations I ever took. I scored about 40 comics along the way, which was a treat for me.

IcctromboneGlad that you had a great time in Maine and it's a fun thing to go buy Comic Books in other part of the country and you bagged 40 of them and that's quite a haul that you got there. I enjoyed reading your posts on your vacation and enjoying it. Thanks for sharing it.
