I found this tiny Captain Marvel at a shop today and I have no idea where it comes from. It's made from soft rubber and there were also similar figures of Zatanna and the Thing. Does anyone know what this thing is?  |

Not sure, form the size it looks similar to a Robin figure someone I know got out of a vending machine in front of a department store, but it could also be one of the random mini figs that Marvel. DC and others have been selling in sealed pacs in gravity boxes at places like Hot Topic, Wal Mart, etc.
Is there a copyright year anywhere on the figure?

There weren't any marks on it the I could find. I was kind of figuring that it's something like what you mentioned coming from a vending machine.

Congrats Gene, you are the proud owner of a Shazam Squinkie.  Why do I know this? Because my daughter loved Squinkies a few years ago and had a gazillion of them. They came out with several versions for both boys and girls, and there were licensed packs from the likes of Star Wars, Marvel, DC and Barbie. They came with these plastic balls you can stick them inside of and then could buy a miniature gumball-type playset that you could fill them up with. Here is the Spider-Man dispenser:  They were on store shelves for about a year or two and then disappeared in the blink of an eye. And valiant effort by MRP, now I want that Darkseid mini fig...bah! |
