Friday's Banner: Doom vs. FF
Do we...
A) Like this banner much better. Keep it.
B) Like it better than Thor, but still see its limitations. Something else is needed.
C) Like it the same.
D) Want Thor back.
E) Think they're both crap.

I have a suggestion that may work as a middle road. What if we had a Classic Comics Forum logo? Then we could rotate the banner however we wanted, but by affixing the logo to it, we'd still get the branding we want. I put together a sample logo and a sample banner to show what I mean. Sample logo:  I was working on a logo, myself, last night, but I like this one MUCH better. I'll definitely play with it. Thanks! Or a vintage photo of comics on a newsstand  Love this image. I'll see what I can do with it. |

I see you've got a version of the logo up now. Other than the aforementioned similarity to the DC bullet logo, looks good. Just with the FF banner, the black bar ends up over both characters eyes. Reminds me of the old nudie pictures from earlier in the 20th century where they concealed the woman's identity with a black bar over her eyes.

Applied a new logo based upon Scott Harris's idea, and utilized dupont2005's photo. The intention is to homage the most iconic logos from both classic DC and classic Marvel. I still feel the background needs color, and I'd rather not utilize someone else's image without permission, so if anyone wants to shoot some pictures of scattered comics (or if your LCS has a wall displaying old comics that you can photograph) and send it to me, It'd be appreciated. I will be going out of town in 30 minutes (that's how hard I work for you guys  ) and will not be back until Sunday night, so let's let this sit on the top of the page for now, and please respond with your thoughts. |

I like the vintage comic banner and the new logo. If you want color, photo editing software online can be used to restore color to black and white photos like the one you already have.

I'm now late for my camping trip, but I think changing the color of the logo to match the board gave us the colors I felt were missing.

the blacks in the logo look really pixelated on my pc - as they do in the classic comics forum outlines - plus the blue fill on logo has black pixels in it too. the stars need to be rotated 10 or 15 degrees anti clockwise - drop cap needs to be less severe and the blue banner needs a gap from logo itself - and then to my eye at least that will look really tight.
