Looks awesome, bert! I met Pat at Comicpalooza a few years back and he's a really great guy. I do have to ask though: Why didn't get a Firestorm commission?

Great stuff Bert.
I would have loved to see that Marionette if you had it done.

On a somewhat unrelated note, why are so many classic comic creators wearing Hawaiian shirts when they appear at conventions? Is there something functional about this I'm missing, or do they have their own little subculture going on?

Is there something functional about this I'm missing, or do they have their own little subculture going on? call it the George Perez/Sergio Aragones effect -- they're comfy! However, Neal Adams wasn't in Hawaiian shirt. and there was a rare appearance on the 2nd day of Baseball-cap-less Larry Hama! (it was his birthday too). (I have a pic of that that I can post, once I get them uploaded to my FB wall).

Beautiful commission of Killer Frost. I loved the 80s Firestorm series featuring art by Broderick. Killer Frost has always been a favorite of mine as well as Firestorm (Ronnie).

Maybe wearing the blue shirt makes it easier for fans to find Neal on the convention floor.

Maybe wearing the blue shirt makes it easier for fans to find Neal on the convention floor. I think it's a Superman thing. Although social psychologists have also determined that people associate that shade of blue with honesty and a strong work ethic.

It's always neat to see pictures of people whose names you've known for so long, compared to the face you might have put to them in your head. Especially all us old folks that were alive before the internet when meeting them was the only way to see them.
And Neal Adams really reminds me of an actor, but I cannot think of who it is right now.

Embarrassing childhood story. Being a young boy/teenager in the 90s, I was of course obsessed with the X-Men and Wolverine. OBSESSED. Jim Lee comics, TV show, etc etc etc. Anyway, a friend moved to a new neighborhood and there was a comic book artist across the street. They arranged for me to go over to his house, see his studio, etc. I met the guy, saw his art, and he gave me two prints: Batman and the Joker. I ASKED IF HE HAD ANY X-MEN PRINTS INSTEAD. Now that I am older and much more sensible, I love the prints and realize they are treasures. My parents just found them recently after my having thought them lost for years, and I have had them mounted and framed and they are going up in my house. But yeah, wow.
I want you all to know I have the good taste to at least still be embarrassed about that over 20 years later. That artist? Pat Broderick.
