This is a weird thing to say, but to my surprise, my home town of Leominster, MA is hosting their first comic con on July 30. I don't live in Leominster anymore, but I was born and raised there.
It's a bit odd, because Leominster isn't exactly a huge city, just a little over 40k people. Neighboring Fitchburg has about the same, so the total area is around 80k people.
Still, they're trying to put on a comic con, which I think is great. it's going to be small, but much to my surprise, they've actually gotten some guests to come to it, including someone I'm very interested in meeting - Paul Kupperberg! I can't wait to ask him about Life with Archie, one of my favorite titles ever.
Also in attendance will be current Archie artist Veronica Fish, so I've got two pros to meet that I excited to see.
And get this: admission is free!
I'll be making the trip, barring something weird happening in the meantime.
