Thoughts on this title? I mean obviously it and Tech Jacket are so low on everyone's radar that you'd be inclined to think that Walking Dead was the only think Kirkman's ever done
I feel like it takes a lot of things that I liked about various teenage superheroes, namely Spider-Man, and just does it way better

I've bought every issue since it's debut and I think it is one of the best titles I've ever read. I could do with (a lot) less violence, but watching Kirkman kick over the card table every so often is worth it.

I read the first two compendiums which cover the first 100 or so issues, and have been following it in single issues ever since. I really enjoy the series. It's not quite right to call it a parody, since it does have some pretty serious moments, but I love how it fully embraces superhero tropes and pokes a lot of fun at them. As the most recent example, the last story arc was about the whole reboot thing which is all the rage in superhero comics these days. Also, I love the fact that it's a superhero book that actually lets the character grow and move into different life stages. Invincible started out as a kid in high school, and is now a married with a kid. Makes you wonder what kinds of stories could happen if Marvel or DC would let some of their characters grow up.
By the way, ditto with Action Ace's comments -- it is pretty graphically violent at times.

I read the first half dozen trades. It was okay, but I didn't feel compelled to keep reading. It seemed pretty well-tread ground and was already starting to repeat itself.

I'm more inclined towards Tech Jacket since I like armored/tech heroes (Iron Man, ROM, X-O, etc).
As for Invincible, I've read the first trade or two of it but haven't felt compelled to read any more. Plus, given the sheer volume of it's publishing history now, it's intimidating considering catching up on it all.

I'm behind on this, but I've generally enjoyed it throughout most of its run.
Does anyone know if Kirkman has an ending in mind, in some fashion? I generally prefer self-contained stories like this to have some kind of conclusion, rather than ending up wandering around aimlessly until low sales eventually puts them out of their misery *cough*Strangers In Paradise*cough*.

The only Kirkman title I bother buying (because it's actually great!) is Outcast. The art is gorgerous and the dialogue is less bendis-heavy as Walking Dead is. The plot is so far satisfying but needs to grow (I've only read the first 7 issues).

Well, the series has ended with #144. I haven’t read it every single month for the last fifteen years, but I’ve read them all in one form or another along the way now. It was a great ride and I’m sure I’ll soon be missing the enjoyment it gave me when I did read an issue or trade.

It was the breath of fresh air when it started, and the quality was steady throughout.
It always reminded me of Joe Kelly's Deadpool, not literally (although there is plenty of parody in Invincible) but because the atmosphere, characters and storytelling style are very much Kirkman, in the same way Deadpool was Joe Kelly. I say don't curate/canonize/collectivize, leave those 144 issues as the only Invincible comics.
[It does better job than Spider-Man, now. But if you compare it with Spider-Man in 1963 probably the same. Way back then Stan Lee's comics were something original - flawed but likable kid next door - a super hero.]
Anyone curious about Oblivion Song? Surprise, surprise. If you can imagine unlikely combination of Druuna and Matrix - well worth checking out.

I read the first 17 or so issues and was mostly impressed with it.

I'm a little behind at the moment but it's been very solid.
I think it'll do very well as a movie.
Haven't cared for Tech Jacket nearly as much.
