Just got htrough mos new shows that were on my hardrive :
Underground : A group of slaves band together Prison break style to escape a southern plantation and reach the north. One episode so far, started slow, but got me towards the end, I will continue
Colony : Dystopian Los Angeles undre curfew after a seemingly alien invasion where the resistance and the collaborators aren't as one sided as they appear. Qiute dull acting and no that exciting plot. I'm out after one episode
Love : modern romantic comedy with some dark moments. From the Appatow clan, I goot quite into this and binge watched the whole first season (10 episodes).
The Night Manager : Le Carré adaptation with Loki and dr House in the main roles. High production values and good cast make up for some minor plot holes, I'm in till the end (2 more episodes out of 6).
Stag : BBC survival noir comedy in three episodes. I was lazy and watched the whole of it, but it had that smart ass lad feeling that I hate, and predictable supposedly smart twists...
Billions : A top risk capital broker against a trade market prosecutor with the later's wife in the middle her being the profesionnal therapist of the former. Great cast, godd suspense, not as deep as it wants to appear, but still quite enjoyable, will follow till the end. 8 episodes in
Damien : A sequel to the Malediction film franchise. Slow and dragging, I watched the pilot and will give it one more episode to catch my interest before I give up.
Hap And Leonard : Joe R Lansdale adaptaion of his 80ies southern loosers adventures. The cast is incredible and even if the story is real slow, I'm hooked, great TV. 3 episodes in
11.22.63 : Time travel adaptation of the Stephen King novel, where James Franco travels back to 1960 to prepare for stoping Lee Harvey Oswald.5 episodes so far, I came in with big doubts but must say I'm quite sold on this as well, great production values and many interesting plots, even if hte latest episode was a bit of a drag...
Idiotsitter : absurd comedy about the mishaps of an adult rich and dumb trashy heiress and her tutor. It's dumb, bad, SNL like, but I kind of like it, guilty pleasure material.
Baron Noir : French political drama/thriller. Great and realistic plot, very grey. watched it in one go.
Magicians : dark and (young) adult version of Harry Potter. The production values are acceptable for Sci Fy, I kinda of followed it for 3 episodes before I more or less lost interest. It will need stellar reviews for me to catch up...
Vinyl : New HBO about a NY record company in the mid 70ies produced by Scorssese and Mick Jaegger. It's all about the stars of the time in a cameo fashion (Lou Reed, Wharol, Kool Herc, Alice Cooper, etc...), it's over the top, manic, and I really love watching it so far, but I'm not sure it's good yet. 5 episodes in.
Outsiders : modern mountain outlaw bootlegers live on the fringe of society and maintain fear amongst neighbour small cities in order to preserve their lifestyle while a mining company wants to kick them out. Charismatic cast, decent set up, I was in but starting to loose interest after 6 episodes...
Making Of Murderer : Favorite recent show for tis documentary on this dragging criminal case. Baffling and very emotional.
