Published: December 2001 Synopsis: "In feudal Japan, when a samurai had a justifiable reason for revenge, the government could issue an adauchi, official consent for vigilante justice. In this issue of Usagi Yojimbo, our sword-wielding hare encounters just such a samurai on the hunt for four ronin who killed his father. But unfortunately for the angry son, three of the renegade samurai have joined a vicious gang. With the help of Usagi's twin swords of fury, the son might have half a chance, but these guys are one tough bunch. Will Usagi and the young samurai make it out alive? Has Usagi made another one of his brash decisions in helping the young man?" Notes: Discuss the issue and/or post full reviews below!

A fun look into culture again, but it left me wondering...who was the last bandit? I don't recall this story but I feel like the last murderer will be someone we've seen already.

I don't quite remember if I'm thinking of the same story, but doesn't Usagi later find the last bandit as a priest attempting to atone for his sins?

I don't recall but that could certainly be why they hid his identity, perhaps its Priest Sanshobo's right hand man whose name escapes me?

I think he was unrelated to Sanshobo, and lived at a small temple of his own. Sanshobo's right hand man has some secrets of his own, though...
