While this can be read simply as set up for another story in a future issue that isn't all there is. Stan will always manage to make each of these kind of set up stories reveal something more to the reader. There is the insight Katsuichi shows of his former student Usagi and how world weary Katsuichi has become while being happier to remain in the comforts of "home" and then the "surprise" of Jotaro being told to prepare for the trip. These shorter story pieces show how much effort and thought Stan puts into ALL of his writing throughout Usagi's journey.
