Works similar to the weekly Classic Cover Contest. Edited:New Instructions: Entries can be photos or videos, prose or poems. Use your imagination. Enlighten use with arcane knowledge or side splitting humor. You just want your entry to stand out and be remembered Next Tuesday, March 8th you can vote for the winner of this week's subject-Famous Left-Handed People. However you determine the best entry is between you and your maker. I'll tally the votes and announce the winner. And that winner can kick off his own, due to popular demand, ridiculous thread with a silly subject of his own choosing If coffee and bananas can last so long, there must be a vast reservoir of subjects to discuss. I'll kick it off and I'll pick, because I belong to this group Famous Left Handed PeopleDoesn't he look like one of our own? Albert Einstein suffered through the stigma of being left handed before they made special combs for people of that persuasion. There are many famous lefties and inventions for lefties too. We can also explore the mystery of the left-side of our brain. And why the hell is a baseball lefthanded pitcher called a southpaw? Vote lefty people, even you republicans

but: -- how would you know what is an entry and what is not? -- how would you know if someone is trying to influence the voting? -- how would you know if someone is just commenting or they are trying to confuse others who might vote? -- how would you know if someone is just trying to have a good time?
we can't have THAT!!!

Half my family is left-handed (although I am not). Out of 5 kids, 3 were righties and 2 lefties. But if you're after a famous left-hander, how can you go past the ultimate Renaissance man, Leonardo da Vinci?

Do we consider them "people"?

Elizabeth CottenShe was a self-taught guitarist and banjo player. She's pretty awesome because she developed her own style of playing her guitar by playing right-handed guitars and not restringing them for left-handed playing. From her wiki page (which I had gotten the info elsewhere for my folk music presentation I did in college, but I cannot remember where I got the info from, so wiki it is!): Her signature alternating bass style has become known as "Cotten picking".

This post has been deleted because, as a natural born left hander, I was dizzy and confusing. And I went back and fixed the opening post with its instructions. Word of warning folks, Don't vote for a left handed politician, the world's screwed up already

OK then-I guess berk was right about me getting confused. I thought folks where posting pictures of left-handers. I'm not clear about AGS and his post but that wouldn't be the first time either

I do not really understand the question either. I thought your post was asking us to post left handed people who we thought were awesome.
Which was kind of weird to me since that would mean we would have to vote which person is the most awesome out of the ones posted (instead of a cover). But I was willing to go with it. And I still am, if you change your mind.

It's weird since your title said it all (I actually thought this was a pun at the bad ass movie scenes thread...), but the explanation confused me But I'm pretty sure all of us actually posted pictures of left handed people, let's be honest there so here's my one entry in hte competition then : "hair piece or facial hair?" when nature leaves you no choice, which way to go? The thread should mostly consist of pictures as arguments against one stance or the other.

wait, Wait, WAit, WAIt, WAIT, WAIT-I SAY HOLD IT UP
This is not meant to be a thread about left-handed people (If they really are people can be debated), This is a contest thread that nominated that subject I hope I made myself clear with the instructions on the top post Appreciate the response so far, just remember to vote for your favorite next week But lets see what you guys have in mind Post your ideas-just like the Classic Cover Contest Don't leave me hanging out here alone Or Am I confused and those are your proposed threads-An Elizabeth Cotten Thread, A Mozart Thread and a Man with Stan Lee Thread? Sorry. I thought Famous Left Handed People was the topic of the first contest and the winner would chose next week's topic (the same way MRP created the topic for the first Cover Contest).
