Not that Fernando Ruiz isn't a solid artist, but Breyfogle was like a magic trick on the series. He was somehow breaking out of Archie's house stye for layouts without going outside Archie's house style for draftsmanship. With absolutely no empirical evidence to prove otherwise, I'm just gonna say I don't see a lot of artists capable of doing that on that level. Well said. He was particularly inventive with expressive shadows, camera angles and momentum. I actually have two original Breyfogle pages hanging in my office (can't find my camera right now, sorry), and I NEVER buy original art.

Two pages from the series?
I just read the issue and I think Kupperberg did the best he could. It was a powerful story, but the entire time I just kept wondering what it would have looked like and how much more powerful it would have been if Breyfogle stayed on it. Perhaps I shall read it again once I clear away those biases!

Yep, subscribers got theirs in the mail ahead of time... Who would have thought a current Archie book would be selling for an average $40.00 less than one week after initial copies were released?

Scared me for a minute. Seeing it's selling at a premium made me think I might get screwed out of my copy, as I have been for multiple issues of Afterlife With Archie at this point. But mine is still scheduled to ship tomorrow. Hope it does.

This is insane. The price basically doubled overnight at my shop. Insane. I'm actually tempted to speculate, and I have never speculated.

It looks like it will be short lived. Final sale prices are ranging from $12 (two dollars over cover) to $50. This is all for auctions ending yesterday. www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_sacat=0&_from=R40&_nkw=life+with+archie+36&LH_Complete=1&rt=ncI think I paid forty dollars for that issue of Captain America where he called the Tea Party a bunch of racists. I knew the hype would be short lived but I wanted it right then and there. It's probably worth five bucks today.
