Whether we like it or not, collectibility is part of the hobby. And high grade keys go for a lot of money these days.
Recently a new record was set for one of those keys:

I'm assuming the AF #15 at #2 was a private sale and not at public auction, hence their claim about the issue sold on the 128th would be false.
I am also curious if you added sales of different copies of each book (not just the highest sale price for each) if the top 10 would be all copies of Action #1.
Me, I just can't see paying that much for a comic, even if I had millions/billions in disposable income, I don't think I would spend it unless I was setting up a museum like a Smithsonian of comics or some such. But to each their own I guess.

On Thursday, February 18, Heritage Auctions auctioned off a Certified Guaranty Company (CGC) graded 9.4 copy of "Amazing Fantasy" #15 at their Comics and Comic Art Signature sale in Dallas. As one of the highest-graded copies of Spider-Man's first appearance ever to be sold at public auction, it was expected to fetch a high price. In fact, it set a record, selling for $454,100. That's the most ever paid for a Spider-Man comic at public auction.
