I want to say that Hawkeye's hearing loss played a part in a few other stories, in terms of affecting the plot. I can't put my finger on it, but I'd swear he defeated at least one sonic-powered villain because he couldn't hear their power and wasn't affected by it. I think that might have been in West Coat Avengers. WCA confronted a bunch of Hank Pym's old enemies (Commies, one and all), included the Voice, whose power was to compel people to do whatever he said. Clint shot off his hearing aids so he couldn't hear the commands. |

Avengers #234 is the first time I can remember that 2 heroes were depicted as post coitus in a comic. They met each other in #232.  |

In FF 254, just 2 months earlier (dated June 1983) we see Reed and Sue naked in bed, and later learn that Valeria was conceived then (or thereabouts). But my vote for earliest post coital is FF 65, the only time we see Reed just after being in bed with Sue. Working back, that was about the time when Franklin must have been conceived. Both FF 64 and 65 are full of sexual symbolism and innuendo (and not just heterosexual either, though I doubt it was intentional).  If we don't allow "seems likely in hindsight" then you win, because the first unambiguous example in the FF is not until 275. Coincidentally, another issue where She Hulk gets naked.  Of course that only counts as "two heroes" if we think Alicia was doing something heroic here. (Or if we buy the later claim that this was really Lyja Laserfist...) |

Though I agree that "cripple who transcends his problem" is less interesting. I like how Hawkeye's problem does not define him or hold him back in any way: very progressive. |

Jack Binder's Daredevil was rendered mute after seeing his father murdered and himself branded with a red-hot iron, leaving a scar in the shape of a boomerang, the weapon he would later adopt in his war against crime. |

I just thought of another one: Jonah Hex's birthday is 1st November (he's a Scorpio). Dunno why this stuck in my head when I read it in some comic or other, but it did.
