A little bit about this subcommunity...
This is the official discussion forum for Stan Sakai's Usagi Yojimbo, officially sanctioned by Stan Sakai. It is the successor to the now-inoperative Usagi Yojimbo Dojoboard. Since 2002, the Dojoboard community has been a means for Usagi fans to interact with each other, as well as with Stan Sakai himself, and that community continues here today.
Meet the team:
usagigoya (Steve) is arguably the greatest living Usagi Yojimbo resource on the planet. I often wonder if he knows more about Usagi Yojimbo than Stan Sakai himself. Usagigoya also runs the Usagi Yojimbo Facebook Page.
dhfujii (Daniel) is the developer of stansakai.com and is responsible for the Usagi Yojimbo Website. He is also Stan's step-son and part-time publicist.
usagiguy (Stan Sakai) is the creator, writer, artist, inker, and letterer of Usagi Yojimbo, for which he is the recipient of a Parent's Choice Award, an Inkpot Award, an American Library Association Award, nine Eisner Awards, a Harvey Award, an Inkwell Award, three Ringo Awards, five Ursa Major Awards, two Haxtur Awards, and several more. In 2003 he won the prestigious National Cartoonists Society Award in the Comic Book Division, and in 2011 Stan received the Cultural Ambassador Award from the Japanese American National Museum. He is also an award-winning letterer for his work on Sergio Aragonés's Groo, and the Spider-Man Sunday newspaper strips. Learn more about him at stansakai.com.
With so many avid fans of Usagi already at the CCF, with such a tricky franchise to discuss (one continuous creator-owned run qualifying here as both a "classic" comic and a "modern" one), and with Stan Sakai himself giving us the blessing to develop this section, it seemed like a no brainer to develop this subforum in order to more thoroughly discuss Usagi and, best yet, spread the love to others.
