Wow, everyone has such wonderful pieces! Shaxper, I really like the one for your daughter. Here are some of mine. Many of my hardcovers have sketches in them, but I'll start out with these... My first piece not in a book was a quick sketch done at Long Beach in 2011.... (I call this "Winter") I had no idea what to ask for, so Stan took the liberty to come up with this nice winter theme, something I actually liked since I had been thinking " one day I'd like to have a commission of 'seasons'" - Well this is a perfect start - Thank you Stan! I framed the first sketch and had another done (Spring). My final two commissioned quick sketches which fellow UY Dojo member picked up for me from SDCC 2015... Summer (left), Autumn (right) Funny, I JUST posted on Stan's facebook page how much I love when he draws Usagi in a downpour or snowstorm. There's always this amazing sense of solitude, both melancholy and beautiful. Truly excellent stuff. I'm envious. Oh wow! I wasn't sure I loved that whole Usagi sketcbook #11 sequence until we got to that frame with Usagi on the train. I nearly died and still chortle far too loudly whenever I re-read it now. VERY nice collection, maichan!

I adore this one. It always makes me smile instead of frown when I complete an Usagi Saga volume. So cool that you own this! I really need to get on the Dojo Christmas Card list. So awesome that you do that every year. That artwork is utterly adorable. I somehow forgot to add my name this year to the Dojo Christmas card list. Stupid me...

The design of the raincoats and hats are awesome, and the rain/snow looks stunning, especially in black and white. I didn't know that "Usagi on the bus" drawing was from a sketchbook. Now that I've read all the books, I think I need to start getting the sketchbooks.

I wonder if Stan would ever consider compiling them in a tpb, running a second printing, or allowing us to post scans of them somewhere online? It's true that they are intended only for the die-hard fan who really wants to learn more about Stan's creative process, but there are so many gems to be found within beyond just learning how Stan works. I love that it's an outlet where Stan doesn't always have to take Usagi so seriously.

From the 2009 Dojo Christmas Card.... I really need to get on the Dojo Christmas Card list. So awesome that you do that every year. That artwork is utterly adorable. 2009 was the only year that the Dojo Christmas Card featured original art made specifically for the card. And I always wondered why you had never signed up for it.....

I still have some left if you don't mind them being a little out of season. I can send them out with your 20th Anniversary doo-hicky thingy when it gets mailed....

I never knew that piece was made specifically for the card. That's very cool.

My motives were entirely selfish. I needed someone to grab me the newest sketchbooks, after all!

Wow, you guys have such amazing pieces! I can't believe some of you have the original pages of the Usagi books!! From what I gather, Stan usually doesn't part with them very easily. Super cool!
I have a database for all of the pieces that Stan has done a while back. I call it the Database on his website, but I don't feel like it does the pieces justice. Too bad there wasn't some really neat online gallery where you could frame and display things, like a Pinterest? Is there something like that on the internet, maybe even a plugin?
Any ideas?
