Nah. I'd rather drop it. My original point...that certain people get too worked up over politics...is valid. " Too worked up"? It's not politics I'm talking about: it's truth. You said Reagan asked Carter to make the announcement. He didn't. I simply pointed out the dsicrepancy between fact and whatever it is you call your statement: opinion, rumor, or unfounded assertion. You repeated something that for whatever reasons over the years has become accepted as fact despite plenty of evidence to the contrary. If you're going to make outlandish statements, be ready for someone to contest them. That's not being "worked up" over politics, it's calling you on what you said. I hope you would do the same to me if I said that Reagan did not defy the Boland Amendment by supplying arms to the contras in Nicaragua. I hope that's civil enough for everyone. |

And it should. This is why we need to vote. It is almost impossible to know every single everything that will be written into a bill before it goes to its important place, and we have to trust our elected officials to vote appropriately. And they rarely do. I wonder who snuck that sh!t in. |
