Monster Spotlight - Minilla in Son of GodzillaThe original concept is the one above you and considered the original and one below you was the later version and I did not care for it at all. Minilla is an infant Godzilla kaiju created by Toho that first appeared in the 1967 Godzilla film, Son of Godzilla. "Minilla" is Minilla's official name, while "Minya" and "Milla" are nicknames made up by American distributors. I prefer Minya as his nickname. Height: In Showa - 13 Meters (42 Feet) ... Later On in Destroy All Monsters and All Monsters Attack 18 Meters (59 Feet) In Millennium a huge 20 Meters Tall (65 Feet) Weight: In Showa - 1,800 metric tons ... Later On Destroy All Monsters and All Monsters Attack 3,000 metric tons. In Millennium - 5,000 Metrics Tons.

Son of Godzilla Full ReviewA team of scientists are trying to perfect a weather-controlling system. Their efforts are hampered by the arrival of a nosy reporter and by the sudden presence of 2-meter tall giant praying mantises. The first test of the weather control system goes awry when the remote control for a radioactive balloon is jammed by an unexplained signal coming from the center of the island. The balloon detonates prematurely, creating a radioactive storm that causes the giant mantises to grow to enormous sizes. KamacurasWhile this going on, the giant preying mantises uncovered a huge egg and out of this experience ... The egg hatches, revealing a baby Godzilla. The scientists realize that the baby's telepathic cries for help were the cause of the interference that ruined their experiment. Shortly afterwards, Godzilla arrives on the island in response to the infant's cries, demolishing the scientist's base while rushing to defend the baby. Godzilla kills two of the Kamacuras during the battle while one manages to fly away to safety, Godzilla then adopts the baby. The baby Godzilla, named Minilla, quickly grows to about half the size of the adult Godzilla and Godzilla instructs it on the important monster skills of roaring and using its atomic ray. At first, Minilla has difficulty producing anything more than atomic smoke rings, but Godzilla discovers that stressful conditions or motivation produces a true radioactive blast. Minilla comes to the aid of Reiko when she is attacked by a Kamacuras, but inadvertently awakens Kumonga a giant spider that was sleeping in a valley. Kumonga attacks the caves where the scientists are hiding, and Minilla stumbles into the fray. ReikoMinillaKumongaKumonga traps Minilla and the final Kamacuras with his webbing, but as Kumonga begins to feed on the deceased Kamacuras, Godzilla arrives to save the day. Godzilla saves Minilla and they work together to defeat Kumonga by using their atomic rays on the giant spider. Hoping to keep the monsters from interfering in their attempt to escape the island, the scientists finally use their perfected weather altering device on the island and the once tropical island becomes buried in snow and ice. As the scientists are saved by an American submarine, Godzilla and Minilla begin to hibernate as they wait for the island to become tropical again. ON A LIGHTER SIDE OF THIS MOVIEThis is the cutest scene in this movie ... I just loved it. I just loved this scene ...

Update on Godzilla Movie Reviews
Due to my deceased Father's Estate we had a Family Meeting today and I'll be spending more time over the next 2-3 months helping my family to take care of the selling of the house and among other things as well. I won't be watching any Godzilla Movies for awhile and having said that - it's looks like I will resume around the end of May and I will be visiting this site on a daily basis far less frequent and possibly posting less. I will participate the Cover Contest as usual and I enjoy that part of this Forum.
Because of that ... I decided to stop changing my Avatar until this thing is resolved. I will be changing it soon.
We have too many things to take care of and that's why I'm stopping these movie reviews and as well my Top Ten Favorite Things too.

I saw the 1970s Godzilla cartoon long before I watched Son of Godzilla. Godzooky was vastly superior to Minilla.

I saw the 1970s Godzilla cartoon long before I watched Son of Godzilla. Godzooky was vastly superior to Minilla. Could Godzooky shrink down to four feet tall and teach life lessons to lonely Japanese latchkey children? No. He could not. I rest my case.

Destroy All Monsters is one of the greatest movies ever made! I've haven't seen this movie in more than 20 years and I just watched it for free on Hulu and I had to say this it's on equal footing or better than my favorite Showa film ... Godzilla v. MechaGodzilla that came out six years later. I'm going to write up review tomorrow that would be a pretty easy thing for me to do and I was stunned by all this. It's will be a full review and it's coming sometimes tomorrow morning ... Stay Tuned! It was on YouTube but the link was broken by copyright infringement.
