My favorite iterations of Wonder Woman are from the Super Friends cartoon, Lynda Carter TV show, and the comic runs by Roy Thomas, George Perez, Phil Jimenez, and Alan Heinberg. I like my Wonder Woman stories with a good mix of mythological(Circe, Ares, Medusa) and non-myth(Cheetah, Giganta, Dr. Poison, Queen Clea, Baron Blitzkrieg, Aegeus, Osira, Angle Man, Silver Swan, etc.) foes. I also wish Diana would wear a star-spangled skirt at all times.
Since Wonder Woman is kind of the underdog in DC's Trinity, I'm thinking of starting up a Wonder Woman board here. Who would be interested in participating in such a thing if I decide to move ahead with it? All things Wonder Woman past and present would be game in this new WW sub board.

Have you read very much of the really old Wonder Woman material? Some of it might be available from your local library. (I get a lot of old Wonder Woman comic book stories through inter-library loan.
The Wonder Woman Archives starts at the very beginning in 1941 and reprints the earliest appearances in Sensation Comics and the early issues of Wonder Woman are wedged in according to publishing history. I'm not sure how many volumes were published but the first volume alone had so much cool material! (including the first appearance of Dr. Poison in Sensation comics #2!).
Showcase Presents: Wonder Woman has at least three volumes, and it reprints stories from the late 1950s and early 1960s. Great Ross Andru/Mike Esposito art and variable Robert Kanigher stories. This is the Wonder Girl/Wonder Tot/blonde Hippolyta/Mer-Boy/Impossible Tales era. Some of it is great with that goofy Silver Age grandeur (Mouse Man!) and a lot of it is terrible. But that art!
There's also four volume reprinting the Mod Wonder Woman era of 1969 to 1972. I think it's called Diana Prince, Wonder Woman. These are pretty whacky! Your brain will melt into a psychedelic sludge, but in a good way.
And Comixology has a bunch of classic Wonder Woman stories online. I bought Wonder Woman #6 (it's from 1943, I think) with three Cheetah stories! (Including her first appearance and origin!) Wonder Woman #6 is my favorite Wonder Woman comic ever! I was thinking of reading it again soon and maybe writing up a few paragraphs for CCF!

At first I was a little disappointed that MechaGodzilla used a later Ross Andru piece instead of using something from the early 1960s.
But then I remembered that Diana wore stupid-looking sandals for YEARS in that era!
Good job, MG!

I've read some of Marston's stuff but not a whole lot of it. I certainly like a lot of the concepts and villains he created(Mental Radio, Invisible Jet, Cheetah, Giganta, Dr. Poison, Queen Clea, etc.). I still miss Priscilla Rich.

Would anyone else here be interested in a Wonder Woman sub-board?

Aside from the Marston stuff can anyone recommend a good jumping on point for Pre-Crisis Wonder Woman?

Aside from the Marston stuff can anyone recommend a good jumping on point for Pre-Crisis Wonder Woman? Well, there pretty much isn't one, because the run is just a total mess from start to finish. There are actually a number of different jumping on points which are all equally valid, because they kept rebooting the series over and over again. #269 begins the final total reboot, so I suppose that's as good a place as any. Other jumping on points would be #98 for the new Silver Age origin (or #105, which also introduces new Silver Age elements), #178 for the start of the New Look Wonder Woman, #204, for the start of the brief "classic Wonder Woman" revival, #211 for the start of the 12 Labors of the Justice League storyline, #228 when the series switches to Earth-1, WW2 era Wonder Woman, or#243, when it switches back to Earth-1 in a crossover with the Earth-1 Wonder Woman. God rest your poor soul.

Even the powerless period is more remembered for the historical significance than the effective quality of its stories.
