When he drew Nightwing he seemed to draw some faces without tracing, at least at the start. I loved Nightwing when it was Dixon and McDaniel together, so kept buying for longer than I should have. I really liked Land's art at first, but if memory serves it was within about a year or so he started going overboard with tracing. (Plus the writing on Nightwing went to 💩 at that time too, which didn't help)

How many pay a whopping $9.99 cover price for a new copy off-the-shelf? I just wait until it's inevitably discounted by as much as 80% in a matter of months. Kind of curious about the crimes of passion though and will dig in eventually....

Yeah, the price is stupid when that's more than the Amazon price of a 140 page trade. It's even worse in the EU- it'll be priced maybe 50% higher than you can find that 140page trade.

Oh yeah, the price is definitely what's keeping me from buying that. Definitely the price.

I think that cover harkens back to the 60's in DC when the cover made you curious about the book.

It would appear he was seduced by the dark side. Tracing's quicker, easier, more seductive.

I persuaded a 'UK only' seller to ship a package to me in Miami and maybe, just to shut me up, he went to Royal Mail, priced shipping w/tracking and said he'd try it once. He was amazed it arrived in 3 days and he thanked me for expanding his potential customer base.
The things I do for my comics.

They missed. I have never been less curious in my life. Maybe you're not a romantic ... Neither is DC, judging by what they did to the Dibnys.

They missed. I have never been less curious in my life. Maybe you're not a romantic ... I actually really enjoy some romance comics... I just have grown weary of DC's insistence that the Batman/Catwoman relationship is the greatest, most interesting thing to have ever occurred in DC history.

A quick google shows some excellent reviews for it, suggesting it's better than we thought. Enjoy 👍🏼
