Anyone else try these? These comic storage bins are more durable than the traditional longbox/shortbox made of sturdy white double-thick corrugated cardboard. The 'shortbox' type shown here holds about 140-150 books and comes with a lid. Definitely more female friendly too as a long box weighs a tonne and can damage my nails.

That looks quite all right, although probably not cheap. Their being stackable is a plus!

Was watching X-Men Dark Phoenix, yes it was rather bad. But something occurred to me. The use of anti-power collars that appear in both Marvel and DC. How does that even work? How can an electronic device, which means it emits something over the electro-magnetic spectrum, dampen any and all powers? Think of all the varied powers that superheroes have. The same type of collar can stop Supergirl's strength and Cyclop's power beams and Beast's Natural abilities and John Jones just being a Martian?? It just makes no sense at all. They're sometimes referred to as "inhibitor collars." The idea is that they don't remove or negate super-powers, but block the individual's ability to use or access their powers, probably by broadcasting some form of psionic jamming signal calibrated to target the subject's specific brainwave frequency. I assume such a device wouldn't work on robots or androids, but there's likely some story out there that would prove me wrong.
Cei-U! I summon the malignant fashion accessory!

And that is where it falls apart. The Beast was just born differently than normal people. It's how his body is. Same as Wolverine. His body heals, there isn't a mental part of that. We could think of a dozen more examples. It's just a Deux ex Machina that is kinda nonsensical.

We could think of a dozen more examples. It's just a Deux ex Machina that is kinda nonsensical. Unless the PTB decide to go the “Superman’s powers are psionic” way, and claim that Beast’s abilities do not derive from his muscles per se but some sort of local psychokinesis. Ditto for Logan, whose powers are already nonsensical... His healing factor is already pretty magical, as the process involved to cure someone from a cut, from radioactive burns, from poisoning or from a virus are entirely different. But that is all a little silly... It is, as you say, just a big Deux ex machina; it is magic in SF trappings. The only proper answer to “how does this mutant inhibitor work”, I think, is “pretty well, thank you”!

I think it's just another way the movie sucked. If the Army had the tech to so easily take out the XMen and keep them contained, why the hell do they even need the XMen?

Those are intriguing... I tried the sleeves for long boxes, and those stopped working after being 3 high. How stackable are they? (I'd like them to be about 7 or 8 high)

Several of the dealers I know (including the promoter of Gem City Comic Con) swear by them for their own personal collections and for storing/transporting high end books to and from shows. When they first hit the market, stores here had trouble keeping them in stock for the first 6 months or so as the demand was pretty high for them. I gave up on long boxes a while ago, and use short boxes instead now, though I considered the stackable crates and/or drawer boxes, I haven't made the investment in either yet and I am not sure I will. -M

I prefer UK variants! So much harder to find, and cooler.

I’m using long drawer boxes (not as long as regular long boxes) right now. Stacked 5 high seems fine, but to be honest I’m still in the process of converting, everything is a mess. These black boxes seem like they could be a nice addition for higher end books, and stacking a bit higher. They’re sturdy plastic, and leak proof, right?

I am still a little sad now and then about selling my collection, but I am not upset to not have to move another freakin' longbox again.
