People are actually speculating on Spectacular Spider-Man #176 and #177 from 1991, remember them? Written by Kurt Busiek, and drawn by Sal Buscema, it featured Peter Parker fighting a fever – not just himself, but also the population of the SoHo district in New York. The villain's name was Corona.
Has to be a weird coincidence. There, I said it.

I guess if DC can have Death as a cute girl Marvel can have Corona, because there always has to be an equivalent... Sub-Mariner = Aquaman, Batman = Nighthawk, Solomon Grundy = The Hulk. She is just making a comeback right now, that's all.

I have a copy of Spec Spider-Man 176 I bought at a Con for $1 so that I would have something to read on the way home. And now I am rich!

I wonder if the Typhoid Mary issues of Daredevil are also being sought out now.

I can't imagine a lot of Peter Mayhew, Billy Dee Williams and Dave Prowse forgers are lurking about. I have to admit to being a porgchowderhead; I can't make out the fourth signature... Jack Vine?
Friend replied Dave Prowse scribbled in 'Darth Vader' just opposite his autograph.

He always does that. I have a couple of the late '70s Marvel Star Wars treasury editions signed by Dave Prowse and it's pretty much the same - "Dave Prowse is Darth Vader". I think it's because he objects to other people having worn the suit in the films since Return of the Jedi.

I never really thought of David Prowse as Vader, James Earl Jones was the indispensable piece to the character.

Although, when I met Dave Prowse in the suit at a local toy shop, back in 1983, he was definitely Darth Vader to me. I got an autograph from him at the time, which I later lost, but back then he was just signing autographs as "Dave Prowse". The "Dave Prowse is Darth Vader" came only in the last 15 years or so, I believe.

I never really thought of David Prowse as Vader, James Earl Jones was the indispensable piece to the character. I didn't either, until I saw Haden Christiansen in the Vader suit at the end of Ep III and thought, "Nope, he's got the height, but not the bulk."

I saw Prowse in a con many years ago. He said that he was saying the lines as they filmed the movies and they later dubbed the JEJ lines.

Was watching X-Men Dark Phoenix, yes it was rather bad. But something occurred to me. The use of anti-power collars that appear in both Marvel and DC. How does that even work? How can an electronic device, which means it emits something over the electro-magnetic spectrum, dampen any and all powers? Think of all the varied powers that superheroes have. The same type of collar can stop Supergirl's strength and Cyclop's power beams and Beast's Natural abilities and John Jones just being a Martian?? It just makes no sense at all.

It's a green kryptonite type of plot device. Maybe ala Jon Pertwee's Doctor Who an explanation could be that it reverses their polarity?

It's a green kryptonite type of plot device. Maybe ala Jon Pertwee's Doctor Who an explanation could be that it reverses their polarity? The collars are Kirby Krackle Collectors-they siphon Kirby Krackle from people and block of outside flows of Kirby Krackle preventing it from charging/recharging people, and all super-powers, whatever their nature or described origin, run off of Kirby Krackle... yellows sun rays=Kirby Krackle gamma radiation=Kirby Krckle cosmic rays=Kirby Krackle irradiated spider-bite=Kirby Krackle Pym Particles=Kirby Krackle Power Lantern=Kirby Krackle Mutation-allows body to process Kirby Krackle etc. etc. so the power prevents people from tapping into or processing Kirby Krackle, thus it dampens all powers, as all powers are Kirby-Krackle based. Kirby Krackle is the prima materia of all comic universe, making Kirby himself the demi-Urge. -M
