I just looked at the complete Batman the 60's TV series, and it was on eBay for as little as 38 dollars (free shipping). The price seems a little low, I'm thinking that they waited too long to finally settle the contract in order to release the show to the public. The saying " strike while the iron is hot" comes to mind. They clearly released it when the interest is low. Can anyone come up with other items that were sold , past it's window of opportunity ?

I was talking to a worker in my LCS and he told me that The Reprint series of Miracleman hasn't done too well in sales. That's another example of waiting too long and the audience losing interest.

The Batman '66 set was pretty hot last Christmas... I definitely remember looking at it and deciding it was too expensive. $38 is more my price range... I'll have to look again I think with Miracleman it wasn't just the timing, but the combination of waiting far too long and then pricing it like it was going to be in high demand. I think Sandman:Overture is in the same category.

I agree with Wildfire. I suspect the pricing on Miracleman is a problem. I do wonder how well the trade collections are doing. Seem a bit better priced.

I hope they release an Omnibus-style collection of The Original Writer's issues. Three HCs to collect sixteen issues is taking the piss a bit.

Well about 2-3 weeks ago a gentlemen knocked on my door on a Saturday afternoon asking if I'd like to sell my 2000 Chevy V8 half ton. I said no as I've been pinched for money to fix it (either replace the radiator or water pump neither I know how to do) and update the tags. As my wife and I started watching our movie together she looked up the blue book value. Maybe I should have. It showed to be worth a lot more than I assumed. Plus I have a like, when new, $500 grill guard/cattle pusher ( whatever is the technical term on it) that when it was running people would ask me in parking lots if I'd want to sell just it. Never did.

Miracleman is a combination of things: it's a reprint, so collectors won't be that interested. It's relatively old and the things it does have been done again and again by now (though few with equal skill IMHO), so not as many new readers will be interested, Fans that will buy it for Moore and Gaiman will probably wait for collections so it fits nicely next to the other collections by both gentlemen. Anyway, I don't think it's a matter of timing alone on that one.
I enjoy the series though (never got a shot at the originals over here), even at its increased price point and I enjoy the added reprints of the original Marvelman series from the 50s that the first few issues contained.

I had the original 16 issues plus a TPB of the Gaiman issues back in the day. It was really good but , you're right that the themes were done many times since. I might pick them up for a song when it gets in the dollar bins.
