although they are trying to scam people by calling it "Austin Comic Con". . for some oddball reason, they are running it Friday and Sat, instead of Sat/Sun (it's not due to Halloween, since Halloween is on Sat). you too, can pay $50 (for 1-DAY ADMISSION!) (or $85 for 2 day), to get into the show, and then pay $40-$50 each for autographs from "celebrities" including from TV shows no longer on the air, wrestlers, and Sports figures (such as Mike Tyson, and Earl Campbell). www.wizardworld.com/home-austin.htmloh. .Jim Shooter will be there too. you could not pay me enough to attend this crapfest.

I hear a lot of complaining about these events from the hard-core comics folks, so I get the general impression that these shows don't appeal to that crowd. But I've looked at the guest lists for these shows, and they don't have nearly the celebrity roster that a lot of non-WW shows have. So who actually goes to these shows? It seems like if either comics or celebrity-stalking is your thing, these shows don't have enough of either. Most non-WW shows out there seem to at least be really good at one of these, but the guest list for most WW shows I've seen make them look like they are trying to be mediocre at both.
