Looks like Marvel is doing a sequel to its Civil War Event, Civil War II in the spring, pitting Iron Man and Cap in a rematch (but this time it's Sam Wilson as Cap and rumor has it Doom in the Iron Man armor spinning out of the classic time travel story in IM 149-150 Yeah count me among the uninterested. At least time it won't be Mark Millar (I hope). linkage to CBR or Bleeding Cool-M

As much as I liked Civil War, I have zero interest in this and zero idea how a sequel would even work.

We should have a CCF contest to figure out the member LEAST interested in getting this.
It would be EPIC.

I read most of the last series. I'd read the first 6 issues. I'd read the first 11 issues of Civil War: Frontline. I read Civil War: The Return and threw it across the room in anger. I then called my comic store and said I would like every Marvel comic removed from my pull list.
8 years later, I have not bought a single issue of Marvel Comics off the newsstand. (I do buy the occasional trade with caution.)
In particular, I don't expect to buy this. But I have little left to threaten them with.

Does Doctor Doom make a clone of the new lady Thor to help him fight Sam?

The first Civil War was, at bare minimum, a decent idea for a story that was mediocrely executed.
This is apparently the thought that Marvel can cash in on the name recognition of a previous "big event" (as they've done this summer with Secret Wars) as well as glom onto the release of "Captain America: Civil War" in May 2016.
I gave up on Marvel events after Secret Invasion. This isn't the one that makes me come back.

After Secret War and all the tie-ins being such stellar successes, it's no surprise that Marvel are going back to the well for CW.... no, wait, that can't be it.
What was CW: The Return, I can't remember reading that? (Dunno whether I've missed it or blotted it out as a traumatic event)

For what it's worth, I really liked Civil War and have the whole event in my collection -- I mean, every single published issue associated with it from 2006 and 2007. So, I think it's safe to say that I must be at least one part of Marvel's target demographic for this. However, I'm not sure I really want a sequel. Like thwhtguardian says, I can't begin to imagine how a sequel would even work. This just sounds like a really bad idea all round.

Yeah, unless they're just banking on the title and the concept is totally different I just don't see how you could do a story like Civil War again. I mean, maybe there could be a new issue that divides the heroes into two camps again but I feel like that would feel pretty hollow this time around. Though, if they do Frontline again I may give those a try as no matter the event I've always liked seeing super hero action through the eyes of street level reporters. That should be an on going to be honest, I'd buy a Ben Urlich book in a heart beat.
