R.I.P. Lemmy Kilmister of Motörhead. I'm absolutely gutted right now. Knowing what I know about Lemmy I can't feel gutted for him. He lived his life the way he wanted to, never compromised, had no regrets and according to the statement died peacefully, so I don't think he'd be too bummed about being dead. And if he ain't bummed I won't be bummed. My neighhbors are gonna be bummed though, because Motorhead is going to be blasting from my house at jet engine volumes for quite a while.

I have enough Natalie Cole albums in my collection to stay up another 7 or 8 hours and listen to nothing but her. This song just made me cry, a cover of Shelby Lynne's "Leavin'". It's about the end of a relationship, but it also works as her farewell to the world. "oh, you'll be all right, you'll be fine. it just won't be today as for me, I'm doing better already but - what a hell of a price to pay."

I heard that song before and what you said was brilliant. Thanks for sharing it.

David Bowie has passed away at age 69.
A statement on his official Facebook reads as follows:
"David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer. While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family’s privacy during their time of grief."
Saddening and, for me, unexpected; he left us a titanic discography, and inspired many artists to look beyond their horizons. R.I.P.

I am fuckin' speechless. Had no idea he has been suffering with cancer. I've been playing his music a lot lately on my mp3. He was truly one of the greatest musical artists of his generation and after all these decades was still relevant and timely

I'm not a big Bowie fan, by any means, but I was genuinely shocked and saddened to hear this news today. Another one of the greats gone forever.

Well, that's quite the kick in the nuts first thing this morning. I had just read an article about Bowie and his latest album in EW and was planning to get it sometime soon; I still will, but it will be with a sense of sadness, knowing it will be the last one released during his lifetime.
