Just learned via his family's post on Facebook that the longtime fan artist & editor Tim Corrigan has died. Back in the mid-'70s, his Tim Corrigan's Superhero Comics was not only fun & interesting in itself, it also provided an outlet for at least one future pro I for one had never encountered before, Jerry Ordway. (The same may well have been true for Willie Blyberg as well. On that count I have to plead a fading memory some 40 years after the fact.)
Tim remained a prominent figure in comics zine publishing, focusing as always (AFAIK) on stripzines. His Tim Corrigan's Comics & Stories was still going, I believe.
He was 64. That's a little too young, not to mention a little too close to home for some of us.
OK -- a lot too young.

I read some of his stuff and he was innovative, sharp, creative, and most of all a great storyteller. He'll be missed. I read about 15-20 of his books that were loaned from friends sorry I didn't think about purchasing some of his wares.

Wow, that's pretty shocking. Yeah, his series was still ongoing and had quite a few issues. I used to subscribe to it.
In the 80's he had the Small Press Comics Explosion, I think it was called. I never had an issue, but I learned of his name through other small press comics of the era, back when they'd trade plugs. I then started buying his current series. He still traded plugs, not only were the comics cool, it was a great place to find out what other 80's small press guys were up to these days.
