The Geppi Entertainment Museum will be hosting a retrospective of Will Eisner's the Spirit for it's 75th Anniversary including over 50 pieces of original Spirit art by Eisner. It is times to coincide with the Baltimore Comic Con and Baltimore Book Fair, beginning Sept. 26th. more infoI haven't been to Baltimore since the year after Camden Yards opened in the early 90's, when I attended a game there, but while there we explored the Harbor area and I discovered Geppi's shop/display there, it was much smaller then, but interesting. It has, it seems, grown huge since then. I have seen pics of hteir othr exhibits and it is always impressive. -M

Is it just me, or are comic book art exhibits suddenly springing up like crazy? I know comic art exhibits have occurred in the past, but we've seen quite a few more than usual lately, right?

I am seeing more of them because my Google newsfeed is putting them in my Suggested for you section of the newspage. Kirby and Eisner are items it searches for for me because I searched for them on google at one point and the news page then suggested an article it found on them and asked if it was something I was interested in. I clicked yes, so now whenever google finds an article on either it brings it to my attention. Lots of comic, music and sports related topics I am interested in have gotten the same thing. So, yes I Am sure there are more, but it is also a matter of being easier to get the word out about them as well, and it is much easier to find news on such when you look for it as well.
So more of them, sure, but the ones there are are more pervasive in their publicity as well.
Outside of the cartoon museum on the Ohio State campus, there have been a dozen or so cartoon, comic book, or super-hero related exhibits at museums just in the greater Columbus area in the last decade or so, plus all the events at OSU and that particular museum. So it's been happening for a while.
