Just how strong is Spidey? I mean, I know he is pretty darn tough but I was just re-reading ASM #239 and there is a scene where he bends a piece of metal into a shovel, shovels the asphalt away until he gets to the gas line, and then crunches it closed to prevent gas from fueling a potential fire. Seemed like a bit much to me... As strong as the writer needs him to be, apparently. He once pummeled frickin' Firelord into unconsciousness!

Another forum question: is there a quick way to reply to just one post and not have it quote the entire conversation? Every forum I've ever been on defaults to just quoting one post. It's messy and (imho) ridiculous for it to always include the entire chain.

Wow, I don't think I even knew we had those other forum sections! Probably because this forum software is just so different from the forums I'm used to frequenting. Different in a bad way I think, but maybe I'm just stubborn.

I just saw a cover for Squadron Supreme with Thundra on the cover. But I thought the JLA-analogue Squadron Supreme was from another universe and their Wonder Woman equivalent was the Power Princess, not Thundra. What's the story?

The current Squadron Supreme is not the original group. The original Squadron are presumed to have died along with their world (Earth 712) in the recent catastrophe that devastated the multiverse. The current Squadron is made of survivors of several destroyed realities, including Thundra, alternate versions of Hyperion and Doctor Spectrum, the Nighthawk from Supreme Power, and the Blur from New Universe title DP7. It was initially thought that Power Princess of Earth 712 was indeed part of the group, but she turned out to be Warrior Woman.

In AMAZING SPIDER-MAN # 1, the web-spinner casually picks up the Thing, and throws him against the Torch, without doing any irreversible damage either to himself or the other two. But then, I don't think that Ben (or the Hulk) weighing a ton (or so) was part of continuity yet...and if Spider-man DID give himself a hernia lifting Ben, the 'spider-healing factor' must have fixed it between panels! Still, if somebody throws the Thing at you, and you don't die, you're lucky!

Very similar to my hero Pillowhead Dark Pillowhead? Actually Red Velvet Pillowhead but I think he changes colors depending on the season or if he's doing a laundry. I need to relate his origin, I've been meaning to. He's a real live NYC vigilante-only patrols my neighborhood
